I am having to use my husband's computer temporarily. My computer may be having problems. I would like to send one of my saved games to his computer. I tried but it failed to go through. Why? It didn't come up like a "download" from gameboomers. Just some words and a numbers. My husband's e-mail is in his name EDITED OUT I know I'm not suposed to put that address in here, but I'm needing to get some saved games from my computer to his. I tried regristering new for his computer but failed at that. All I get are what I have on mine. I'd like to get him registered at GB so GB could send him saved games. I fail at everything. Is there any help?

You can do seceral things:

1. Mail the one who sent you the saved game and ask it to be resent to that new address.
2. Place the saved game in your computer to a flash-stick drive and download it to your husband's computer.
3. You can write him a mail and attach the saved game in that mail.

Which saved game are you asking about?

Nancy Drew. White Wolf. Flash Drive? Is that a little stick that I use on my computer? And where would be used? Couldn't it be possible to get him registered in his name and with his e-mail address? I really tired to do that because I may end up using his computer and could not get any help from gameboomers?

- Yes that's the flash drive.

- No need for him to registere. Use his computer and log in as yourself. You can use any computer and log in and the system will let you in.

- What part of White wolf.

I will move this thread to Hints forum now. It's not a glitch or need tech help.

The fox and geese game. I did send him that saved game but it was opened. Maybe that's the problem.I need an unopened game in order to E-mail to my husband's computer? It isn't just that saved game, but I know I will need more saved games and I will be having to forward them all to his computer? What if my computer goes out and I can't receive a save at all. What do I need to do to his computer in order to receive the saves on his computer. God forbid that my original computer goes out. I have had several problems and it is 6 years old. Out computers are in the same room and next to each other. If I could just reach into the computer and move them over to the next computer. Thanks for putting up with me. I can't imagine not playing games without help from GB!

Are you able to receive e-mails on his computer?

Are the games installed on his computer?

All you need to do is have the saved games mailed to that address.
You then download it as usual - the same way you do to your own computer.
You install it on the games the same way.

One of the reason the saved game you sent to him might be because you didn;t send it as an attachment. You might have opened it and sent it to him as a regular mail.

I will send a saved game (Fox and Geese) to your huisband's computer.
Then process it the regular way - IF - the game is installed in your hubby's computer. Wait for it.

I just now re-installed the White Wolf game. I hope I got it done in time. Otherwise it would turn up on my computer, and I'll try to send it to his computer via e-mail. My husband has a different e=mail address than mine. It is still yahoo mail, but has his name. EDITED OUT! I know I shouln't put that info here, but I am desperate!

I knew I could count on GB!! My only problem was trying to remember how to move it from downloads to the game folder. But I did get it Thank you so much, Now, if my computer goes out, I can still get saved games from GB.

Check the stickied thread on top of the Hints page. It has some help on downloading and installing.
Also I added some help on the mail with the saved game.

Don't get nervous about the saved games - we will try to find some solution one way or another. luck

Thank You again. I need to know more. I will try to figure out how to send, how to open, how and where to download the received file. In other words, I am so scared. When I see the Blue Bar, it is so different than the other way I used to do. I just clicked on the attachment, clicked on send to desktop, send to documents. I will look hard for step-by step instructions. I know it is an easy task, and it is IF you know what to do. I clicked on the blue download and it did download, then by putzing around desktop came up, then more putzing, and I found by right clicking to a drop-down menu to open containing file and I found it in the My Documents. I then dragged it into the game file. It should not be so hard for my feeble brain, but it is. I'll go to the hints screen and try for the instructions. BTW how do I copy then paste. I've tried but could not see anything happen, so I drag n' drop. Is it possible to get step by step, or do at the age of 77, go to computer school? Just kidding. Thank you for putting up with me.

---------------

I clicked, I think, on the stickied thread on the hints page. I found your message. Read it but how can I get step by step message on sending, receiving, downloading, copy, paste, (I know drag and drop) I think I must know something by now on how to put it into the game folder. I'm so very sorry I am so ignorant. But I hate to go back to knitting. Did I mention that my husband is an invalid and I don't get out very often.

Hi Classy,

Do you have Windows XP or Vista?

For XP, you can right-click on the file and select Copy, then right-click inside the save game folder and select Paste. That will place the file inside the folder.

For Vista, I am told that method of copy and paste does not work, so drag & drop is the best method.

To send a save:
- Open up a new e-mail message.
- Click on the paperclip icon, which is the Attach function. This will allow you to browse the files and folders on your hard drive.
- Locate the game folder, double click on the save you wish to attach.
- Confirm your choice by clicking "OK", and the file will attach to the e-mail.

To receive a save, you have already figured that one out. thumbsup

Just play and enjoy the games without worrying about the technicalities until you need to. We are always here if you need us.
