Hi,

Hope someone can help. DFLS first hung at the point in the first setting when the cart moves out of the way and you click to head out of the tunnel. Sound continued, may have been repeating. Had to control+alt+delete to get out.

Downloaded and installed latest NVidia driver. No change. Hung in same place.

Removed and reinstalled game. Now it hangs at first puzzle-(putting poster pieces together.)

I am running Vista Home Premium, 2G RAM, 200G Hard drive, NVidia GeForce Go 7800 with 512 RAM

I had directx 11 and when game froze I tried going back and installing 9c from the CD that's when it got worse (more unstable).

Sorry that my technological grasp is inadequate. If more information might help someone help me, I will be glad to supply it. (If I can find it.)

I'm so dying to play this game!! Someone please help!

Thanks, very much,

Diane

Installing DirectX 9.0c is required by many games (even if you're running DX 10 or above) so it shouldn't have made it worse.

I've had several issues with the game as well, more times than not it just fails to start.

It's possible that you need to update your sound card drivers, have you tried updating them as well?

Hi InlandAZ,

I tried to update the Conexant High Definition Audio driver-got the response that best driver for my device was already installed.

This is a laptop. Nothing just says "sound card" like on my desktop pc. Here is the sound section from my dxdiag:

Does any of this mean anything to you? It means nothing to me. Just makes me more confused and frustrated. Can you recognize which of these I might also try to update?

I wrote to Iceberg Interactive and sent a full copy of my dxdiag per their request, but have not yet heard back. It's only been a day, so they're not overlong, yet.

If they are of any help, I'll let you know. But, I'm not counting on them.

Thanks much for your time and whatever attempts to help me you can offer.

Laptops use integrated audio -- an audio chipset built into the motherboard that functions as a sound card. Yours is made by Conexant. Some games just don't work well with certain types of integrated audio and this may be one of them.

You might try reinstalling DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft if you think you may have gotten a defective DirectX 9.0c install.

Thanks for your response, Jenny100. I sure hope it's not due to the integrated audio. I have not yet found a game that I couldn't play on this laptop, from old to new, so I'm hoping this isn't gonna be the first.

I will try downloading the 9.0c from Microsoft. I'll report back if it makes a difference.

No word, yet, from Iceberg.

Thanks, again.
