We are at the abandonded hideout and are not able to move the constructed ladder to the window, because on clicking the "hand" icon, Holmes just climbs the stairs to that location. Any help please!!

Hi firestonemates, welcome to GameBoomers.

Is this the hideout accessible from Finley's yard, or the large house with surrounding grounds later in the game? Which stairs?

Rushes. Thank you for responding - sorry not fully explained. This is the hideout accessible from Finley's yard. Stairs are in that vicinity.

The assembled ladder needs to be placed against the wall on the left side of the yard - just next to the bench. You'll get a hand cursor where it should go. Holmes will not attempt to climb the yard stairs if you are in the correct spot. Playing in first-person view might be a good idea here, if you are currently in third-person.

Also - be sure to have used the hammer on the ladder-with-nails in inventory, so that the nails are fully hammered in and not loose. Otherwise you won't be able to place the ladder against the wall.

luck If you still have problems, please let us know!

I don't remember needing a serial number for the boxed game. Is this a download?

In any case, we don't give out possible game security codes.
