I've gotten to the Baghdad chapter. I get to the balcony and the cat does its thing, breaking the vase, etc. According to the walkthrough, I'm supposed to get into the princess's room when I go through the double doors. However, I keep winding up in the wizard's garden. Should I be looking for a patch or something? Thanks for any help.

Hi pamvan,

Another member experienced exactly the same problem very recently - see THIS thread. A saved game allowed him to complete the game, albeit with a glitchy area further on. He also posted in Glitches forum but no fix was found for the Baghdad chapter.

Let's wait and see if anyone has kept their saves and has one just after this point in the game for you. luck

Thanks, Rushes. I guess I do need that four-year-old! I'll keep checking back. Do you know if the other areas had glitches as well? I'm running Windows 7 and have had a time and a half even getting the game to run at all. There's the snowy area I haven't explored yet. I did look at the other thread--at the end it says some devilish puzzles are missed without the bedroom scene. I hope I can get a save that lets me experience everything!
Again, thank you.

pamvan,

I sent you my old saved games. Hopefully one of them works for you.
I don't know what they are.

I believe that Rushes is right.

If you are playing the DVD version of the game it seems that not all of the Baghdad segment is on the disc.
As it turns out, you don't miss any of the puzzles though.
All that is missing is the movie section(s) which explain about needing to find a black rose, and about the Tale of the Thief,
but you will still find the rose anyway and can finish the game.

I actually had problems with the sound in the latter parts of the game - I'd be interested to know if you find the same difficulty.

I haven't tried it on my XP machine yet,but I have the original disc version and I saw all of the sequences on my ME computer with no problems.

EDIT... Never mind I have the cd version not the DVD one.

MaG, I received the email. I can't find any saved games, even though I know I did save my game. Every time I closeout completely from the game, whhen I open the game, I have to start from the beginning. I wonder if this is a Windows 7 thing. This is so frustrating--I like this game, but I just can't sit and play it for hours on end.

Since I can't find any saved games, I don't know where to put the saved games you sent. So, not only do I have a problem with the game, I can't even navigate the computer! Sheesh.

pam,

Best to post at Glitches. They might find the reason you cannot save or get back to your saved game.
Also see if the saved game files are inside the BA2 folder. Or do a search for them. luck

Thanks for the info. I do have the disk, but it wouldn't run on my new computer with Windows 7. I downloaded the game and was able to run it, but evey time I quit and save, when I go back, I start all over again. If I ever get to finish, I hope this game is worth the effort!!

That is worrysome, your starting over.
Best to ask Glitches forum experts about it.

You might want to run the game elevated (as administrator) or change the location of the install. By default my game loads to Program Files, which is protected in Vista and above.

The recommended location under Vista and above is:

C:\Users\your user name

To run in elevated mode, right click the desktop (or start menu) icon and select Run as Administrator, this allows the game to update the Program Files folder.

When I played it last (under XP) several cut scenes were missing. Setting the compatibility mode to Windows 95 corrected it. I don't own the DVD version, but you may want to play with the settings and see what happens.

You can change them by right clicking the executable (or shortcut) and selecting Properties - press the Compatibility Tab, check the box and select an OS.
