Ok, here's the thing.

TAC used to be the biggest adventure game publisher in NA if not in the world. They used to publish lots of games - some were wonderful, some were pure [blip], but that's not my point.

Ever since Jowood bought out DC/TAC it all went downhill. Fewer titles, decreasing popularity and poor reputation.

The Adventure Company used to my favorite publisher. I used to get excited by only seeing their logo @ the startup screen.

So, what happened ?

It wasn't all that long ago I was purchasing a game a month from them, and that adds up quickly.

I suppose like any company during poor economic conditions, they tighten up the belt a bit.

I wouldn't mind hearing an inside story though smile

I miss TAC. They published a lot of outstanding games. You could always count on them More and more we're having to rely on imports. Oh well...at least adventure games are still being published somewhere!

Me too, folks. I miss DC/TAC. I used to look forward to buying their AG's from stores like Circuit City (now bankrupt), GameStop and Best Buy, but now, I'm having to rely on mostly good old Amazon.com and all you nice people here at gaming forums like Just Adventure, Mystery Manor, Adventure Point, and here at GB if I want any new adventure games, either via purchase or trade, in this case where the "new game" isn't a new release but still, it's "new" to me since I just received it regardless of how long ago it was released.
