I'm recouping from surgery and doing well, but need some stimulation. Sorry to say I'm up to my ears in IHOG and HOG and I don't care for Adventure.

Looking for a game I can play that will keep me mentally occupied but not burned out.

I don't fancy match 3 too much because they are all basically the same old same old... but if there was one different... maybe.

I have Upwords and play that daily... love it, but need something else.

Just thought one of you might have come across a favorite you'd like to share.

If the game were available at BFG it would be a plus since I love their July 4th sale. Already bought 2.

check out Puzzle Hero (available on BigFish). I wrote a review of it on OverCloud9 you could read. It is a match 3/RPG that requires some strategic thinking.

Another match 3 you should look at is 4 Elements. I don't care much for match 3s, but I love this one. It is very different and I will be getting the sequel due out soon.

If you like word games, have you ever tried Bookworm Adventures? That's my favorite casual word game.

Yes, I do have Bookworm... like it but am a bit sick of it. Played it too much.

I tried Puzzle Hero but couldn't stand getting clobbered... too violent for me. Off to try the other one.

Lamp of Aladdin has very good production values and has both relaxed and timed modes.

The Enchanted Kingdom: Elisa's Adventure is a match-3 that has more variety in terms of gameplay.

Cindy's Travels: Flooded Kingdom is another that is quite different and I really enjoyed it.

Trial of the Gods: Ariadne's Fate is also nice.

Paradise Quest is beautiful and has both relaxed and timed modes along with some interesting variations on match-3 play.

I hope you can find something to enjoy. smile

Have you played Fairway Solitaire? It's one of my favorites. Ancient Quest of Saqqarah is quite a different match 3. Also, the puzzles in Azada are fun--no HOGs.

Get well soon NYLady. I like the Jewel Quest match 3 games(until they get to hard). Zuma is fun too(marble popper). I play these when I take a break from Hogs.

Hi NYLady,
Another one to try is Cradle of Rome. It is a match 3 but different - where you build Rome as you earn food, money, and fuel. It is from 2007 so an older game but is on BFG and I have played it numerous time. Feel better soon. :summer:

Get well soon!

If you do like puzzles at all, you might try PuzzleBots and Mortimer and the Enchanted Castle.

For obscure but good, and a bit different Match 3 types, I loved Finding Doggy.

Also, you might venture into a sim/build type like Gardenscapes, Art Colony, and Buried in Time. I really like all of those.

For a new word game, you might want to try out Bonnie's Bookstore. I play that often. Word Whomp to Go is also hilarious, if you don't mind whacking a few gophers. laugh

All of these are on BFG, btw.

Marian,

I played a trial version of Bookworm on my PC and really liked it. I bought it for my DS and it is a great game on the DS, too. I have hooked several of my friends on it. Is Bookworm Adventures a newer version of Bookworm?

NYLady, Glad you are getting better after your surgery. If you like word games, you will like Bookworm. You can put it down if you get tired and continue playing it later without having to remember where you are in the game (like you have to do in an adventure game). If you try it, let us know what you think of it.

Oops! sorry, I posted this before I read that you have already played Bookworm. Hope you find some other games that you like.

Thank you!! I'm trying every single suggestion... hey, what else do I have to do? Got to sit tight a while longer.... can't do much including driving so I am just going to sit back and enjoy.

Bookworm Adventures is a new game starring the word adventures of Lex; it's great, very creative, and a lot of fun. There are now two Bookworm Adventures games; Big Fish has the first one. Give it a try. smile
