Are you looking at the correct picture in the walkthrough cos I believe the junior and senior modes are different.

I'll have to go back and check the walkthrough. That might be the problem. Thanks

The walkthrough is Junior level and that's the one I'm playing. I can't get my puzzle to match no matter what I do.

Thanks, Ana. Hi cmumm, If you're still having problems - if you are able to take a screenshot of your puzzle in progress, e-mail it to me and I'll take a look and see what the problem might be.

Hi cmumm, I combined your two threads for this game. It helps us follow your gameplay better if you can stay with one thread per game. You can find all your posts at My Place at the top of the page. The transmission puzzle is tricky. You need to take care that no larger gear on a higher or lower level is placed too early so that it blocks the gear you're currently attempting to place. Think a few steps ahead and take all three bars into consideration before placing one. There's also a YouTube clip HERE giving a step-by-step if you need it.

I combined your threads again. Please help us here by staying with one thread rather than creating new ones for every question on the same game.
The YouTube excerpt shows the placing from start to finish. If it isn't working for you, then that's a weirdie that I can't explain. Do you want a saved game? If you do - my gameplay doesn't follow the walkthrough so you'd need to check the tasklist to see what has/hasn't been done so far.

I went to the walkthrough and positioned the pieces exactly as shown, but there was always one piece that wouldn't stay where it was supposed to. It was on whichever level of the puzzle (top, middle or bottom)I did last. Any ideas? Just a thought--when I was playing the game and the piece(s) wouldn't stay where it was supposed to, it was because some other piece was blocking/preventing another piece from turning such that then the entire transmission mechanism wouldn't work and the game wouldn't allow you to put the piece there. Once I figured this out, I was able to solve the puzzle. If you just randomly try to arrange the pieces the way that the walkthrough shows, chances are you will run into this problem. You have to figure out your moves such that the pieces mesh without interfering with the placement of new pieces. I hope this makes some sort of sense.

Thanks, Marian. I'm thinking perhaps cmumm didn't see my earlier post saying much the same thing, or the link to the YouTube excerpt.

Your post wasn't redundant, it was great advice. There are always different ways to word things.
