Ummmm, every compass or map I've seen when pointing up is NORTH, pointing right is East, and pointing left is West.
Not criticizing, just wondering if I'm missing something new?

Granny, The way Knut explains it is when the player as the compass looks at that direction. So if you're lying down let's say with your head to the north, feet to south, right extended arm is west and left extended arm is east.
