After sitting in through their press conference, here are your highlights:

The shutting down of the site was a publicity stunt and all they needed was a few days to revamp their website. I won't go through all the details, you will see them yourself if you decide to utilize their website.

I guess they aren't shutting down. If they where shutting down I would hate to see them go. Lets see what will happen. They must have there reasons. From what I get from their website they will be up and running at 8am EDT. Thursday

It is good news that GOG is coming bad.

Still, I found this type of publicity stunt completely unnecessary and annoyingly, to say the least.

I supposed this makes for a good story if you are press. But if you are a customer, this is not so funny even in hindsight. >:

Actually, I didn't really know what to think and believe, when I first saw it.
I decided to wait a bit and read all the comments (some hillarious ), that certainly went overboard at times.

I'm really happy it was just a stunt, because I love GOG and their concept. I simply couldn't believe it was gone

And their video is very funny - I think they were shocked by the way people reacted, lol.

I'm thrilled they aren't going out of business. I think the stunt itself deserves a dancing tomato projectile salute.

I have never been to GOG but wondered what I missed with all the grieving at Gameboomers. So now I will be one of their new customers because of the publicity stunt. It worked on me! I also loved the sense of humor in the video of them repenting and they should a lot of customers were in a tizzy over this. Still others like me who never bought from them will now because of the publicity.

it's a really good site. Easy to download there games. Prices are good. They save your games there and you can download as many times as you want. No DRM to, and they tale PayPal to.

I have never heard of a stunt like that before but word of mouth seems pretty good on the company.

The stunt turned me off to the site completely as did their press conference.

I didn't find the "monks" amusing at all but as long as GOG provides great games at low prices and, most especially, DRM free I'll continue to buy from them.

The whole situation looks like a 6 year old feigning illness to get attention.

I think we have to remember, that this is not a huge company and it is not your typical business man behind it.
It's something that was started simply because some young guys (gamers like us), was tired of the DRM and inavailability of the old games.

I'm definately staying with them and supporting them. I think it was pretty bold of them and I'm sure they'll be forgiven by most.

Stupid, stupid marketing ploy, but I forgive them because of the news about Baldur's Gate. YAY! So excited to play this wonderful series again!

Their site isn't working for me. I can get the homepage, but everything else I click on gets me a blank webpage.

Everything seems to be working fine now. For me, at least.

Finally got logged in everything is working fine. All my games that I have bought are there.
