I am at the end and I have to stop the culprit, I'm suppose to pick up new recorder immediately on the floor when entering room 33. But he starts talking to me and there's nothing around to pick up. I'm suppose to choose something from my inventory but nothing works. I would like to see the ending. If you can help, I'd appreciate it.

Hi snowflake,

Firstly, did you pick up the device from Rentaro's workbench before you made your way up to room 33? Have you locked the door of the room already?

Nancy should automatically tip out the contents of her inventory when she's ready, and you can then pick up what you need from where everything has fallen.

Went to workshop checked recorder. There's an email envelope in top right corner which I can't do anything with and I took door-o-matic from work bench then went to room 33.

Click to reveal..
When I go in he starts talking then he runs out the door and I get start over because he got away. What do you mean locked door already? What door? Am I suppose to turn around and lock the door I came in? Once I step in I can't do anything but listen to Rentaro.

I added a spoiler tag, as some people reading this thread may not have finished playing yet and won't want to know who did it.

As soon as you are able to after the dialogue, you need to use the door-o-matic device on the room door as quick as you can to stop the culprit from leaving. Speed is important here. Be careful not to mix up the door-o-matic with the recorder, which is a different device.
