I like Sudoko puzzles, not very good at them, but I do try. I quit at the Master Sudoko! The solution in Mag's walkthru must be for the Junior level as it does not match the same numbers I see in my Senior level. Someone, please capture the image of the correct solution and send it to me as an email attachment.....I am begging you! Thanks
Love, Betty Lou

HELLO new question - I do not understand how to do the Bento order boxes - I understand what the rules under ? mean but cannot determine which items go where in the very first one (SR level) - so I have checked the w/t and matched my bento puzzle to the one shown on the w/t to match the 3x3 graph and the one column and the 3 in the upper corner...Is Nancy supposed to say "I got it" when she is finished? Since she isn't saying anything I assume that I have NOT matched the solution from the w/t but am just getting more and more confused. I would rather not ask or receive someone elses saved game as they will not necessarily have completed the same things I have since this is non-linear. Can anyone help me understand what I am doing wrong? Thanks much
Love, Betty Lou

Hi Betty Lou,

The Bento puzzles are random, so the solutions given in the walkthrough will not necessarily match the puzzle you are given in the game. Yes, Nancy should comment if it has been done correctly.

Take a look at THIS older thread page, about halfway down, where MaG gives a detailed explanation on how to solve the Bento. luck

Thanks Rushes, I'm sure that has been helpful to many who, as I am, struggled with this puzzle. I just don't get it. I am now pleading for someone to send me their saved game and I will just work with it from wherever they were at that point....what I REALLY don't understand is when I leave the game, come back into it and load my save for this spot, the puzzle changes on me and is not the same as when I saved.....so much confusion for me. Can't get my mind around it for some reason.

All the puzzles in this game (maybe except for nonogram and sudoku) can not be saved. You can stop by just going through the act of saving and going back to the game but not save and be back to where you left off.

As for the bento puzzles - there are 3. The first 2 I sent follow the walkthrough. luck

yeah, I was even surprised to do a Bento box all on my own and get it right the first time - using your excellent w/t tho...always. NOW, I have a question, am in the pond by the wooden bridge trying to place the 3 stones I found - oops I need to go back and find 4th stone, nevermind.....what fun! (my name has not turned red yet in my room but I'll keep checking on it.

I'm back - left earlier for our Halloween party at church at 4-7 PM...before going I tried to do the stone underwater puzzle but now I have a question - am I supposed to have 4 stones or 5 stones? When I place the 4 stones I have on the stone slab and I'm checking it with the w/t so I have it right, there is no "letter with markings" appearing on that stone slab. in the w/t I see an image of something (round?)on top of the tree slot, but when I place my 4 stones this 'image' does not appear. Have I missed picking up one of the rocks I need?

You should have 5 stones in total -- you're missing one somewhere. Go back over all areas of the water garden again. I also had trouble with this part. The stone I had missed was at the foot of the column which stands a little way out into the water and is accessible by stepping stones. Did you get that one? luck

Aha, I had missed the one in the pond by the stone lantern, found it, am now done with this puzzle...thanks Rushes.
NEXT question - I am trying to steam open that password envelope - have hung the teapot, held sealed envelope on the steam and it pops back in to my inventory with an eye on it - however I do not see any "picture" (what does that mean?) I look (close up) at the envelope but cannot open it, keep telling myself (ND) that I need to translate the letters on the outside of it and I put the dictionary on it to see the word "password" but still no way to open it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks and see ya later, getting ready for church now (for real)

I think perhaps you may be holding the envelope too low to the spout. Hold it higher up to the edge of the steam and see if that does it.

Aha, yes there is a definite 'hotspot' one should hold that envelope and it does not indicate just where but 'highlights red' and covers a wider taller area than one would think.
I got it finally. Have done the translation and am attempting to do the Krolmeister 3000 puzzle, have done it both jr and sr solutions from the w/t and I get no reaction - am I supposed to get a key? Nothing happens and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I'll be back later or tomorrow to check here. If that silly football game would finally end maybe I can get to see my Amazing Race on TV tonight.....doesn't look like it tho. Football, Phooey!

There's only one solution. Do you have all 5 cards?

See if this works:

yes, and the solution you just posted (above) is not the same one in my printout of your w/t but agrees with the current posted w/t...but when I do the above solution nothing happens - is something supposed to open and a key appear for me to take? (The other solution of first posted w/t doesn't do anything either).

Be sure that you have placed the colored cards in the correct slots.
Also be sure that the squares under the cards are as shown.

Yes - when correctly done - the cabinet opens and the key hanging in there can be taken.

Turn those knobs and see.

I eseem to be 'stuck' again...have rechecked everything I've done against the w/t and back a few days ago Rentaro mentioned the cat collar, and I had it in my inventory alrady having won all the prizes at Pachinko parlor but I can't seem to 'trigger' giving it to him - I am talking to him (nothing else to say) and open my inventory and click on the collar but cannot pick it up. ALSO how do I know that skeleton key from the Krolmeister cabinet opens ONLY rooms ending with 6 or 9? Nancy did not say so when I opened that cabinet (color keys) and picked up the key. I'm slightly confused at this point, have reset the alarm clock many many times and talked to everyone to "get on with it" but am stuck taking lots of naps and getting nowhere. Checked room checkin book and does Nancy make any comments about deducing rooms 25, 30 and 33? I did not hear one. Where do I go from here?

Have you clicked the cat collar on Rentaro before opening a dialogue?

There is a sign on the back of the key cabinet that explains what the keys are. The key that you should have gotten opens rooms ending 8/9.

The deduction of the rooms should come from talking with Savannah on the phone - she will advise to check rooms - that is why you used the computer.

No, I have not clicked the cat collar on Rentaro before dialogue and when I try to pick up or take the collar out of my inventory I cannot seem to do it. I open inventory, see cat collar and click on it but I get no highlighted cursor and when I back out of inventory the cat collar is not in my hand.
I have set the alarm, slept and awoke at 1 AM and went back to Krolmeister key cabinet but now do not get highlighted cursor so I can replace the color code cards, or open the key cabinet so how do I read what is on the back (or inside) of the cabinet about what this skeleton key opens?

Betty Lou, when you hover your cursor over the collar in inventory, how is it labelled? I'm wondering if in fact you may have purchased the wrong item if it's not triggerinig any dialogue with Rentaro?
