I am at the fireplace in Rome. No matter which way I combine the bough, napkins, and thread, she just keeps saying "this is too slack". Hmmm, anyone else encounted this?

Hi QweenOfBees,

Are the three items now combined together as one item in your inventory, or is the thread still separate?

Be sure to examine the top mantel (above eye level) of the fireplace before you do anything, see if Sylvie says anything about the tiles.

Then combine the napkin with the bough. Then to that, add the thread. You'll then have a bough with tied napkin in your inventory and should be able to clean the dirty middle tile. Check that you're using the bough in the correct place here.

Thanks, but no go. I have tried everything. She just keeps saying "this is too slack". Frustrating.

Can you please verify the label of that item in inventory as: napkins tied with a thread to a bough or is it labeled something else?

You use that napkins tied with thread to a bough only on the middle dirtiest tile button.

Then you continue with the puzzle. luck

Sorry, I am still not sure what happened, but I thought I would try to use the broom on the buttons and it worked. So I can only assume that I managed to clean the button without even realizing it. Sorry all and thanks.

You clean only the middle one and the rest gets lighter. Have fun now.
