Can't solve the Red J's and the mirrored J's.Any help available? Been 3 days on this one. Is there a save game in Rhem 4? I even had extra eyes to help me, and was certain we were doing this right, but, No luck. I'm sure it is simple and I do listen for the "thunk" and even try the bridge to see if it will slide out. Thank you.

Never mind. I went back while I was waiting and solved the puzzle. Never could figure out what I had been doing wrong. Like the old saying goes, "it's easy if you know how"

Each of the 4 doors have 5 letters and 5 numbers associated with that door's code. Each of those 4 doors has a drawing of squares. That is the code. Decode that drawing using the paper taken from number chart taken from the tower rail elevator and the A B C D chart taken from Kales' quarters. Those 2 papers have the same number of small squares. To get the letter positions of one door's code - mark down the paper with letters with the doors pattern. See that the pattern cross over the letter only once. So now you know the position of each of the letters of that door. Now go to the paper taken tower rail elevator wall. This has numbers. Since you now know the position of the letters - look for the numbers in that position using this paper. So now you have a door with the letters and numbers. That is the code to enter on the tower door panel.

Thanks, I'm still not sure what to do. But I'll give it a good go. Got my fingers crossed.

Got it!!! Simple if you know how. I didn't realize I had to enter all numbers and compass directions in the columns for the N,S,E. doors. Thank you so much. Got my mental exercise for the day. Had spent a few hours wandering compass directions and numbers combinations. But it is a snowy day here in the Northwest and not much else to do. See you again soon.

Stuck again, now at the Transposition code solution.I have 2 questions. #1. I don't understand the part about the "Place the paper roll over the light bulb." Where is the paper roll? I do see the spot where I think the paper roll will fit over the light bulb, and I do know the paper roll clue is in the book with the copy of the paper roll. Also, #2 question, I got the code #'s for the random numbers as "584 609" Of course I got the 584 #'s in the right place because of the walkthrough showing it, but can't wrap my feeble brain around the positions for "609". Help please? I hope I made my questions clear. If not is there a save game? If so I need instructions on how to get it into my game folder. I have Windows 7. Thank you for any help. I'm sure the solution is easy, but I'm an idiot when it comes to numbers. Probably shouldn't be playing this game. I did manage Rhem 1,2,3 though. By the way, the clock stopped at NW position where the light bulb and the fuse were picked up.(approximately 2pm. Thank you.
I think I might have figured out the numbers on the transitional codes, but still don't know where the paper roll is to help turn on the light bulb in order to get fragment #8. Help, please? Thanks

Please please help us here also - use the edit text button to add info to your recent posts. So that you do not stack postings. 1. You get the paper roll after you finished the color squares puzzles at North area. 2. "584 609" - This arranging should be after you solve the paper roll puzzle next door. The code you get from that puzzle will decode these numbers. The code you get from the paper roll puzzle is 4 6 1 2 3 5. So arrange 584 609 using that code. 4 6 1 2 3 5 5 8 4 6 0 9 6 9 5 8 4 0 is the decoded numbers to be placed on the other panel. 3. Clock stopped at NW position or pointing to NW position? If the clock stopped pointing NW; then use the NW circle arrangements from Kales' paper.

I apologize for "stacking". I was ignorant of that detail. I will go back to check the area after the I check the colored squares area. I did not see the walkthrough part about the paper roll. I will be coming back because I got different numbers from the ones I sent because I tried again to decode. I just can't figure out those doggone numbers. I'm taking a chance on sending this reply. I'm sorry to do these queries wrong. i will try to learn about the edit button. In fact I may just start all over again. I'm so tired now, I can't think straight. Where is the "edit" button. I have seen it but can't recall where it is. Sorry again. Found the Edit button.
Can't believe I was so dumb. Need help again. (Hope I'm not stacking. But I am still stuck a the tranposition. I finally got the light bulb on and the paper roll, but I still can't wrap my brain around the numbers I got that need to be transposed. This time my numbers are "381 625" Please "show me" what the transposed number will be? ( Finally figured out the transposition puzzle.) Thanks for your help.

Hope that you are better now and-or prognosis good. Take care. If you are following the walkthrough and are now in signal light cabinet - you must already have done the gallery portrait puzzle. This is the one with all the portraits on the wall and you have to check the differences based on the tones. Just a reminder now - remember the 5 pads on the wall when you entered door 1 - you opened the door on the right. Inside that door is the hallway where you did the candle puzzle. That puzzle is at end of the hallway. The door to the gallery is just close to the entrance door to this hallway. It is on the right side.
