It came out of getting stuck and not being able to keep track of what I'd done and which task it was related to.

It went against every instinct I had, as a long time adventure gamer, to go against the "click everywhere, take everything, sort it out later" trope.

But once started I found it actually helped the narrative and the game itself leads you in a certain direction to help the story flow...
