I am trying to get the door open in the Black Crystal room and I cannot get it to work. I have read the other posts on this and have tried to do exactly as explained. What I want to know is the cabinet on the same wall as the pad that you enter. I have the plus sign for the north wall and if I turn left and go straight and turn right to face that cabinet which show North on campass I enter 19. West I have the symbol with two lines across and three lines up and down, #62. South - one line across and two lines up and down #33. East three lines across and also up and down #75. What am I doing wrong? I have been trying this for a few hours Please help

North: When you face the wall with the door that has the boxes above it, the compass points to the top - that is north.
So the pads that is seen when you face that wall should have the north line.
So you go to the other side and then face that wall with door also and see the cabinet with numbers - the compass should point to top or north. Enter 19 then.

West: When you face the wall with the door that has the boxes above it, turn now to the right. The compass should be pointing right. Enter the number and lines on the pad and cabinet for west.

East - Turn around from west and go to opposite wall.
The compass should point to the left now. Enter the solution for East.

South: Turn the wall with the door you entered in. That is south. Enter the values for south.

To be sure - study the compass and also the pictures in the walkthrough - take note of the cables behind the pads.

Do not forget to turn on the 2 small boxes on east and west wall to show purple color.

I went back to a save before I entered this room and was vey careful with everthing I did after placing the black crystal and made sure my compass was in the correct spot for each entry. I turned the slider to purple and pushed the botton and it beeps at me and I go over to the other botton and push it and it beeps at me and the red light above the door flashes. Did I miss something before getting into this room that I need to do? I am going to try to get someone else to try it following the walkthrough and your directions to see if they get anywhere. Help!

I think the sequence might be off and the button on the stand.

Double check that the box on the left side of the room (when you face the exit door with boxes above it) shows violet.
Then go to the slider box at right side of room - this you say is already violet.

Now there is a small stand beside this slider.
Press that button while facing the door with boxes above it.
You should see something come out of the black crystal to shoot at those boxes above the door.

I has someone else try it and we got the violet to light up and it shoot violet beams, but it did not unlock the door. The red light flashed instead. Now what is wrong? Help is greatly appreciated.

Ah - one or more of the pads or number are not set correctly.
Double check and be sure to check the pictures and note the cable at the back of the pads and the compass.
Remember east is pointing left and west is pointing right.

That was it. Thank-you so much for your help. I was so frustrated, but I think I kept getting east and west backwards. Even though I thought I was being careful. OH Well! I will continue you on. Thank you again!

I had the same problem with the Compass sccs. East and West are opposite the norm for me so it can be confusing! I'm taking it slow as MaG suggests and enjoying every minute!

I went back to my save before the black crystal and did it carefully and it worked the first time. I think I was just to frustrated to see straight. I really appreciate the help. Happy New Year
