I believe that that Carol Reed has a new bed in Blue Madonna. Did others notice? How do you like the new comforter or duvet?

I also saw locations that looked similar but not exactly like places from earlier games.

Carol Reed games are so much about location and "eye-candy" that I thought a discussion about this might be fun.

Anyone else out there that would like to discuss these things?

Loved the game but I am not one to notice things like linens or clothing. What I did notice was the doll house seems to be finished. I also thought some of the locations looked a little familiar but not quite.

I like the way all locations and what's in them are portrayed in the Carol Reed games !!

I noticed the dollhouse, too. Was hoping it would play more into this game -- maybe the next one

How about the place where Carol met Gerard (think that was his name), Christina's boyfriend. It looks so familiar. I know I've wandered around a rock stadium type place in one of the last games that I played. Maybe East Side Story?

I was tickled to finally be able to see inside Lovisa's old room, which Carol has converted into a computer/TV/games room. A whole wall-full of computer games, aye aye!

One thing that I really like about the newer Carol Reed games is that Mikael has dropped the heavy water color filtering he did in the first few games that I hated immensely and it would make my eyes go bonkers. Thank you Mikael. Although I have now completed them all in the last 2 years this is why I originally avoided his games.
They now remind me of games like Golden Gate or The Sydney Mystery.

wow ! one man's meat sure is another man's poison ! i loved the coloring in the first couple of games ! it was one of the things that made me come back !

i think the series is the best out there right now.

In preparation for the new Carol Reed game which I am eagerly awaiting I have started playing all the old ones, am only on #2 but its fun and I look forward to noticing changes as I progress I am also hoping to identify Mikael(not sure how to spell it) in the games, I noticed at the end of #1 that he was in it but couldn't remember which character he was, I also remember that Jonathon Boakes had a speaking part in one of them, because I asked Mikael and he kindly replied to confirm it was The Jonathon.

What a great idea, monbron. I haven't played the first ones. Only the last four. One of these days I'll have to attempt that.

I wish there was more puzzles, but still

I just finished Blue Madonna. One of the most obvious things I noticed was number plates, with several references to previous games spelled out, or the names of people who appeared in the games.
I saw Bigge listed as appearing in Remedy, but I don't remember seeing him in the game? Where did he appear?

I think he was sweeping the courtyard outside an apartment block? Carol had to distract him by spreading broken glass off to one side so that he'd leave the area and she could get into the flats. I do remember Bigge's appearances as sometimes being random, and not seeing him at all on one replay of an early game (probably Remedy).

Also noticed InteractCD on a box in the Art Studio

Rushes that was Number 2 'Hope Springs Eternal' I only know 'cos I finished that one last night, I looked at the w/t for Remedy and can't remember him in Remedy as he is prety memorable.

I also noticed Ana's name in the list at the Church!!

Aha, thanks monbron. I wasn't sure, it's been a while since I replayed the early ones.

And of course that great Gameboomers Sticker in the Garden. Thought that was a nice touch, but was really surprised when I had to remove it. Cute touch!!

I'm an unlucky box version purchaser (one of whom had the game held up on for the download version) and who STILL have not received the boxed version.
Like Greyfuss, I also don't notice stuff like curtains or whatnot. I do like the architecture around most of the areas. I think I WILL notice the box in a scene whenever I get the game.

No, the bed isn’t new, but the purple bedspread and carpet are.

The doll’s house is far from finished. The one in the bedroom is just a miniature. Carol has put the large in one of the wardrobes in the hallway for the time being. It’s quite a mess in there, and she wouldn’t let me photograph it this time.

Gerard is hanging around at the Roma Monastery Ruins. Lazydaisy says that it looks familiar from another game, but is probably confusing it with the The Leesen Fortress in East Side Story, with actually is an old water cistern. It is also used as a theatre nowadays.

Yes, Carol has quite a few adventure games. Did anyone happen to notice which classic she had been playing recently?

True, I dropped the water colour effect completely for this game. I decided on this halfway through the game, so I had to redo a substantial amount of work. It wasn’t an easy decision though.

I had to think real hard myself to remember where Bigge appears in Remedy. He can be seen very briefly on a picture, kidnapping the victim of Carol’s first case. This was before he got into his janitor character of course.

As I have posted here before, the "Carol Reed Games" are my personal favorites, for many reasons.

What I noticed in Blue Madonna was that Jonas was wearing a wedding ring. I've played all the other Carol Reed games and I don't remember Carol marrying him. Or is he married to someone else and is having a "fling" with Carol? There's no evidence in Carol's apartment that he's living there. Hmmmmmm

Maybe he's testing Carol's detective skills to see how long it takes her to notice?
