Did you even know GOG has a wish list ? Who knows if they ever look at it but adding a game or voting for one you'd like to see on GOG is worth a try.

It would be wonderful if they could somehow convince Lucas Arts to release their older games! Especially (ahem) Grim Fandango. It would be so nice to play it without having to resort to a launcher or a patch. It's already in the top ten, along with two of the Monkey Island series. If you're interested, boot them up. Or add one of your own.

Me, too, Mad, but I've noticed that a number of people in the GOG forums don't even know it's there and it's certainly hard enough to find since there's no direct link to it. Shooters and action games seem to lead the list but if AG players get in there and make noise, maybe we can convince GOG to take more notice of us.

Thanks for that link- I did not know it was there. There are lots and lots of pages... I am at 150... anyone know how many there are??? And yes I voted on some--- need to get the adventure gamers recognized.

thanks traveler. This is the first I had heard of the list.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

If you click on Add New, you can add a game you would like to see at GOG. I don't think these lists mean anything at all to the Mods at GOG. If you look at some of the titles.... those games don't even exist.

More than likely, they don't pay any attention to a game (real or not) that only garners a few votes. But some have thousands of votes and I do think GOG pays attention to that in deciding who they'll try to convince to release their older games to them for updating...and selling DRM free.

To me, the people at GOG do care. And the proof is that a lot of Atari's old games have made it onto GOG. Most famous of course, the two BG2 games. And games from Activision, of course, too.

As for adventuregames, some of the Zork Games were recently added to GOG. And the King's Quest gamea are also on GOG:

The problem here, og challenge, if you will is that there are legal documents to file, judicials
irks and such to iron out, before a game can be released on gog or impulse.

Adventure gaming is fun smile

How DO you find the link? I've looked all over the site and can't find anything!

It's in my first post, Bristol, at the top of the page. Just click on 'wish list'.

Karsten, I don't know about anyone else, but I've never thought that the monks at GOG don't care. It must have been a huge undertaking to convince even one publisher/developer to release their games DRM free at such low prices but they stuck to it and did it. They had a brilliant idea born of their love of old games. More power to them, sez I.

Gil.

Thanks, Traveler. I had bookmarked it already, but thought it would be interesting to try to find the link on GOG's website with no luck. Deep dark secrets!

Ah! Gotcha now, Bristol. Actually, I found it months ago and, like a nitwit, didn't bookmark it so I had to do a search in the General Discussion Forum using one keyword after another until I got lucky. It's no secret, it's just not given a direct link for some reason.

I added Thief 2 to the Wish List, there's over 1000 names already. I know this is not strictly an adventure game but it is a favourite. I own a copy which I haven't been able to get working for love or money (and before anyone asks, I've tried all the fixes, patches, tweaks, etc.) It would be lovely to see it working again.

GOGs wishlist was on the first page, if I remember it correctly, that is; before the update and new layout some months ago. Now I can't find it at all except via the URL provided by traveler.
