i just played the demo of this game from alawar, absolutely wonderful. does anyone know if big fish will be getting this game. thanking you in advance

Big Fish seems to get all of Alawar's games, so I'm thinking it's almost a certainty they will get this one too. It will probably show up as a Collector's Edition first, just like Twisted Lands: Shadow Town (also from Alawar).

I played the demo and liked it - especially liked that the strategy guide is available in the demo. This doesn't usually happen in BigFish games, or does it? Maybe I've just forgotten

My recollection is that sometimes you can access strategy guides during demos and sometimes you can't.

Well, I played the Demo,loved it and decided to buy it---too impatient to wait. I paid via Paypal, and now cannot play the game. After I paste in my activation key, there is nowhere that lets me play the game. It keeps wanting me to purchase it to get the full game.I have been onto their support, but they say it could take up to 24 hrs. I have uninstalled and am trying again.

Doreen,I just bought the game and didn't have any trouble. Did you copy and paste the begin game key and end game key and everything in the middle.

I just copied everything in the middle. That's what I've usually always done. I'll go and give it a try now.

I did that Richard, and am now being told that it is an invalid game key. Maybe you have to enter it within a certain amount of time. I just contacted them again. so we'll wait and see what happens.

Just finished the game kinda short. It was a pretty good game but wasn't worth $20. Didn't need any guide to play it. A lot of HO.
The bonus was really short.

I like this game. But there is one problem. When I proceed to the toy store scene the screen turns white. But the hot spots still show up through the white screen and when I click on one the screen clears up and I can then proceed. It probably has something to do with my older computer. But thank goodness so far that white screen has only shown up in that area. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Well, I had a problem with that too. What I didn't realize was that when I clicked on buy it now it took me to the purchase page but the page didn't state the name of the game just the purchase price of 9.99 which I thought was weird seeing it is supposed to be 19.99. Well I purchased it and came to realize when I was given the code that this was a code for a game that I had purchased earlier and not Stray Souls! So what I did was to buy the game directly from the Alawar website without going through the game download. I got my code and everything is fine now. So what I want to know is did you actually unknowingly purchase a former game? Compare the code that you have with another one. I keep all of my activation codes in a folder in case I would need them again. If you have never purchased from Alawar before that wouldn't be the problem. Check your other codes! I hope that I have explained this well enough!

Penny Lane, that sounds like your video card may not be fully up to the game's system requirements; you could check to see if there are newer video drivers for your card. Otherwise, it's good that you are able to play the game anyway.

I am sure that it is out of date. There are a lot of games that just won't play on my computer.

Well, I guess they gave up on me. I have just been told to choose another game and they will send me the activation key. Any suggestions---I usually buy the good ones as soon as they come out. Not into match 3, time management, stategy, arcade---just spooky, horror stuff.

Have you played Twisted Lands: Shadow Town? That one is at Big Fish as well, as a Collector's Edition and also as a standard version.

I'll look around Alawar's site if you need a different suggestion.

Department 42: Mystery of the Nine
Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera
Nightfall Mysteries: Asylum Conspiracy

There are other possibilities, but the ones above mostly fall into the spooky/fantasy genre. You've no doubt played some of these already. Let me know.

Thanks for looking Marian. I ended up ordering Vampire saga, Pandora's box. I've probably played it, but I can't find it on my games' list. I have played all the others you mentioned.

Vampire Saga is a nice long game, Doreen. I believe there is a sequel coming, too.

I am almost finished with the game. I really like it! No more "Whiteouts" thank goodness!
