Well after installing o.k. I try to play Myst5 and I get a series of 'cascading' error messages on my desktop (after clicking on the M5 tab to play it).....the error messages come in about 11 separate windows on top of each other w/a message that says something like: 'stack trace error'.
Not sure of the exact wording as it's been a while since trying to install it. It is frusterating to have it install fine and then get the error messages.
Any help would be great, thanks....

I'm not sure why this is happening as I've run all the other Myst games fine on my system -----including Riven, which I got at GOG.com.

What operating system are you running it on?
XP? Vista? Windows 7?

When you installed, did you install in C:\Program Files or in My Documents or somewhere else. If you installed it in C:\Program Files try uninstalling and reinstalling into your My Documents folder (or your Documents folder on Vista and Windows 7).

Thanks for the advice; I may try to install it to 'My Documents' folder and see if that works !

You might also have to install DirectX 9.0c if you haven't had it with another game. It won't overwrite DirectX 11, but may provide some DirectX files that DirectX 11 is lacking.

I downloaded DX 9.0c a year ago when I wanted to play an old game of American McGee's Alice......
I still might try to install it in my documents folder, though ---- it's been a while since I've played it.
