Here's what a Mictoids rep posted on their FB page about a week ago :

Oh joy! Another Siberia! That's great news! I wonder where this one will go since Hans found his mammoths. These games are excellent and I can't wait to play a new one. Except seeing as I have an older computer I wonder if a new one will play? The last two I was able to play but games like The Longest Journey 2 I couldn't play on my computer. It is still sitting on my games shelf unplayed.

Could you provide a link to that info on Facebook. I am not a member there so maybe I am blocked out but the only thing I could find is a posting that is 10 months old for Syberia 3 long before the bankruptcy of their parent company.

Another very nice fan made trailer. The music is great. Now, where's the real thing? <g> Gil.

hmmm , as venus said , i don't see how it would work unless benoit sokal was involved . and they would have to release it for the pc , not playstations ,etc. i mean , they did leave kate kinda stuck there , so figuring out how to get her back , and letting her quit that job and do ???? would make a good game. but of course , no oscar - so it leaves a lot out of any sequel. anyway , one can only hope !

I have very, very mixed feelings about this. The story felt very completed to me at the beautiful ending of Syberia 2. Plus, with the dismally low quality of Sokal games since Syberia 2, I've got very slight expectations for any new game he's worked on (something must have happened to him).

I too have trepidations about Siberia 3, but the games since have never been horrible. I enjoyed Paradise a great deal. I thought that Sinking Island was a bit tedious, but there are lots of gamers who enjoy what I think is too much dialogue. Sinking Island was perfect for them. Nikopol was so entertaining that I bought the movie. I admit that none of them were as good as Siberia, but how many artists have more than one Mona Lisa in them. I'll happily settle for Sokal's next "Pretty Good" game.
If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

with the dismally low quality of Sokal games since Syberia 2, I've got very slight expectations for any new game he's worked on (something must have happened to him). Sokal wasn't responsible for everything about Syberia (or Amerzone). A lot of the credit has to go to the developers at Microids Canada, who also made the first Still Life. Since Microids Canada went bankrupt, and the developers went to work at Ubisoft, I don't think we'll see the likes of Syberia 1 and 2 again. Sokal is an artist and storyteller, but it takes more than that to make a good adventure game. Paradise, Sinking Island, and Nikopol were made by developers at White Birds, who I think lacked the experience of the Microids Canada developers. If there is a Syberia 3, there's no telling who'd be developing it or what it would turn out to be.

While I do agree that the Syberias were Sokal's best works, I also really enjoyed Paradise and Sinking Island. Particularly Paradise, but then I had a strong fondness for the leopard companion. Give me any kind of cat companion in a game, and I'm sold. I thought both games had intriguing stories, beautiful graphics, and in the case of Sinking Island, very original puzzles. SI actually reminded me quite a bit of a modern version of The Colonel's Bequest, one of my favorite games from the EGA era. I found both games strong enough to be included in my yearly recommendations, but of course, tastes differ. As for Syberia 3, I will hold out for further information before I get too excited about it. I agree that Syberia 2 ended perfectly, and I don't feel that I personally need a sequel. If the story looks interesting enough, I will probably pick it up. However, if it turns into some kind of hybrid multi-player game, I will most likely skip it.

Yes, I had read that thank you, BrownEyedTigre, but it doesn't change my mind. I'll believe there's a Syberia 3 when it actually gets released - and then I'll eat my hat
