My copy of Black Mirror 1 also says "Windows 98/2000/Me/XP" - that means if you have any of these operating systems on your computer, the game will install and run on these OS's. But you'll also need the identification code card (a little card bearing the game's title and a 24-digit code - this may contain letters and/or numbers) b/c of the game's StarForce protection. If you have this ID card and type in the code when the game pops up its StarForce copy protection alert/message, click OK/yes, then you're all clear - you can then play the game.
Teresa, could you check your game again and tell us exactly what it says on the box/JC, please?
Glad you got the game running on XP.

Maybe you have an early release, Teresa. If you have the first release, with the oldest version of StarForce, you may have problems with USB flash drives after installing it. Back when Black Mirror first came out, some people found their computers would no longer read their USB flash drives after installing StarForce from Black Mirror. Later versions of StarForce fixed the problem, but if the only StarForce on your computer is this early version, you may run into a problem with USB flash drives.
The best way to run Black Mirror, either with XP or with a later version of Windows, is with the NoCD. StarForce installs the first time you run the game, not during the installation. So you need to apply the NoCD before running the game. I'm unsure if the current StarForce uninstaller works on the old version of StarForce that came with Black Mirror.
