I have played MCF:Dire Grove several times. I love the game. I really do. But one thing has bugged me from the first time I played it. What is the purpose of the snow shoes? Do they ever get used?

The snow shoes are vital to your inventory because if you don't have them you are not able to walk up the path to the farmhouse and barn. So, the snow shoes do get used, but they don't disappear from your inventory.
