I installed this game a few months ago, it was playing fine. Now I decided to go back to playing it on my desktop and to save space on Vista laptop, decided to uninstall it. I get this error message "an installation support file could not be installed Access Denied" click OK
I had no problems installing originally. When I google I only find reference to installing games, not uninstalling. Should I reinstall, then try uninstall again. I have tried through the Control Panel and the Morrowind uninstall icon.
What kind of magic spell to use?

You might try to uninstall with Revo uninstaller. It is free.

I tried that, I think I did it right. I went to the icon for the uninstaller, right clicked and chose run as admin and got the same message.

I'd recommend Revo as Gobobby mentioned. I uninstalled from my XP computer with no problems.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Tried that too niteowl07, same message, this is the first time I ever had to uninstall Morrowind, the faulty hard drive took care of it before. I did Google but my wording wasn't the same as yours. Will try looking tomorrow, if not, then Revo. Does the free download work as well as the one that is a free for one month trial?

Hawkavonpuka, Saw your your question. If you go to the following: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/13-the-elder-scrolls/(it is the Elder Scrolls site) and look under the third bullet down (Morrowind Hardware & Software issues) you should be able to find an answer for your problem. Using Win 7 myself or I would try and walk you through it. Don't have any experience with Vista, as I went from XP to Win 7 and never used Vista. Good Luck.

Hawk,
If I may call you that (these old fingers don't type long names so well these days). When I saw your message, just had to try and help if I could, particularly when I saw you were from the "Big Island"! When I was growing up (will be 67 in 2 months) grades 6 thru 8 lived on Oahu back in the middle to late 50's (Hawaii was still a Territory back then). One of the best times of my life. You are lucky to live in one of the best States in this great country of ours!
Sorry, bit of nostalgia there...back on subject. I am currently replaying Morrowind on a Win 7 computer and know how much help that site has been to me in helping getting it running with Win 7. Seems like I remember seeing some threads there concerning installing/uninstalling when I was looking for Modding information. If not, I am sure that if you post your problem there someone will be glad to help. They are a very friendly and helpful community. Morrowind is such a great game isn't it? Very immersive and open-ended. It has held up very well and with all the current mods available; a delight to play and enjoy once again. The Elder Scrolls series is a great set of RPG games. Look forward to replaying Oblivion next and have high hopes for Skyrim (due out later this year, I think) which is the next game in the series.
Sorry to go on so...some of us 'Old" men tend to ramble at times. Do hope that you are sucessful and Good Luck.

That's OK OldMan44, I am an old (67) lady and do the same thing. My grandson is always telling me to stop writing paragraphs on Facebook. I moved to Hawaii in 1959, right before statehood and we moved to the Big Island in 2006 when my husband retired, we love it here!
Through one means or another I did get it uninstalled, though it was playing fine on Vista, I wanted it back on my XP cause I purchased a 24" monitor. The game looks so good on it. I have all my saves from when I stopped playing last, so I don't have to start from scratch.
I think the problem was that I let it install in Programs x86, Documents would probably have been a better choice. Anyway it is gone now through a combination of moving the file to another Bethesda folder and getting rid of that, the I used Revo to get rid of the rest and the Construction thing. I didn't ever get around to installing Tribunal and Bloodmoon on the Vista so didn't have to get rid of them. I still have Oblivion on here, in x86 so it may give me trouble too. You may find me back in the darkside starting a new Morrowind topic, I am rather rusty as it has been quite awhile. TY again.
