Got it at GOG for 5.95 I believe and I played it for the better part of June and July.
It instaled fine on my win 7 64 bit computer and there were no major glitches except for on area in chapter 8 and there is a workaround for that, found on one of the walkthru sites.
Over all I enjoyed replaying this grand old game. The graphics are, of course, very outdated and there are no voice overs but a very good storyline and a fun game to play. I'd recommend to anyone who likes to reminisce about the early game playing.
The combat is turn-based and you play with 3 of several characters throughout the game.
I really enjoyed it and, although I know I played it before, could hardly remember the game at all so it was like playing a new (old) game.

It's always fun to revisit an old favorite and still enjoy it. Could you tell us what the workaround was (or link to the forum you found the answer in) in case we get the bug to play.

I could not move in the main area without it crashing in the SW area of Chapter 8. Instead I had to put it in the overhead map area where you can move around. To find the dirt piles I needed to gather the necessary items to go to chapter 9 I used this map to locate them.

Will probably go back to the Dragon Age Add on and finish it up. And I have overclocked and Black Mirror 1 and 2 in the wings.
I got Black Mirror real cheap so figured I'd play it again before going into Black Mirror 2.
Haven't found a real obsorbing new RPG that has caught my attention yet. Although I do have Infernal that I got in a trade so might try a shooter.

Do you have the save file after entering the Cavall Run? Would be grateful as I cannot open the door after killing the spiders. Do not know if I have missed anything. It's been too long for me to remember the details of that particular quest. I have my saves listed by chapter so if you tell me which chapter it is in I can send you the saves for that chapter. The only thing is you would have to play with the characters I've created so I don't know if it would help you or not. There are several walk throughs that might help here at spoiler centre Let me know if I can help.

Oldman, it is chapter 3. I could look at you saves and go from there.
Many thanks.

Having always heard so many great things about this game, I've attempted to start it several times, but the wall of ugly just shuts me down. I guess I'm shallow. I wish someone would give it a facelift.
PS I'm in the minority of folks who really liked Return to Krondor, btw.
Procrastinate NOW!! Don't put it off!!

I really like Return to Krondor too, ray but it wasn't too well accepted on its release. Probably because it was so different from what went before ??
