I've since uninstalled the game, and can't recall the exact form that the saves take. Hopefully someone currently playing can advise.

This could be a technical issue. Please consult the support page, quoted here: Q. The save and load game menus do not display text, and I cannot enter names for my saved games. A. Please ensure the core sans-serif font Arial is installed on your computer. This font can be downloaded here ( http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/arial32.exe) Also, please ensure the latest patch is applied. English version ( http://wittardgame.com/BW_Patch_EN.exe) German version ( http://wittardgame.com/BW_Patch_DE.exe) This patch should fix the font issue. Additionally, for the save and load menus, keyboard short-cuts have also been added for saving and loading games. In the save menu, press F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, or F8 to save a game to a corresponding slot. In the load menu, press the function keys to load the corresponding game.

Your anti-virus or internet security software, or internet browser settings, could be blocking the download due to a 'false positive' reading on the file. It might be worthwhile downloading and running the patch with the security software temporarily disabled.

Hi Art_Adventures...thanks for help. Will try the disable bit...you may be aware that many are having trouble with the Pop-up about closing window. That pops up with me and stops my downing the patch..Chuck..
OK...don't faint..ART and MaG..I finally got the Patch and it works on Saves..thanks much
you guys. Had to Restore back aways PC to eliminate popup deleting my getting Patch..Chuck
..MaG...do you have a Save getting past the Hanoi puzzle, one with 7 discs,etc..thanks, Chuck..
