Yes, Gray Matter is the best game I've played this year - which is saying a lot, as this has been an excellent year for games - and one of the better games I have played, period. Not surprising, since it's a Jane Jensen game. Monbron, you should try the Gabriel Knight series, if you haven't already. As good as Gray Matter is, I think the Gabriel Knight games are even better, even more complex. They are all available at Good Old Games.

Sooo looking forward to playing this. Alas, I have to wait a while because I am currently on the road for work for twelve weeks, and there's no way my laptop will be able to handle the game!
Procrastinate NOW!! Don't put it off!!

You can get GK3 from Play for a fiver.
The first game will be quite a small file so shouldnt take that long. GK2 on the other hand uses FMV so that would be more of a problem. Ebay might be an option.

excuse my ignorance but what is DRM?? DRM = Digital Rights Management With games it usually means copy "protection" -- like the StarForce v3 that keeps people from being able to play games like the original issue Black Mirror on a computer with Vista or Windows 7 unless they use a NoCD. And like SecuROM and similar copy "protections" that have been known to cause problems with the burning capabilities of DVD writer drives because of filter drivers the DRM installs, which conflict with other software or with other copy "protections." And then there's the type of DRM where your game doesn't work without "activation" which is dependent on a server somewhere out on the Internet -- and which often limits the number of times you can install and activate the game. GOG and DotEMU are blissfully free of these sorts of restrictions.

Just finished this long awaited game. I was not disappointed. Even the music was hauntingly familiar. I can foresee , using my magic powers, yess...just there, Is that a sequel I see in the distance? There is certainly more work to be done. Thanks Jane, don't wait so long to saddle up this time. Good show!

@monbron
You say you found GK1 in your Program Files directory? Do you mean it is there after you installed it? It certainly shouldnt have downloaded to there.
As the GK1 is only 350 mb then the CD would be ok for that.
GK2 is more likely to be 2.4Gig than 2.4k. All DVDs hold at least 4 Gigs so that is what you would use for that.
What speed is you connection BTW? It sounds like dialup
