After 12 year break, I'm returning to adventure gaming - and looking forward to it. The first adventure game I remember playing was Colonel's Bequest, which only long time adventure gamers would remember. The game that really got me hooked was Monkey Island. Two of my all time favs were, Myst and Zork Nemisis.

When he was young, my son would sit on my lap while we "played" games, doing a high five whenever we solved a puzzel. My hope was that I would pass my love of adventure games on to him. Sadly, that's not the way it turned out. His passion is RPG's and some action games. In order to keep our mutual love of games going, I decided to start playing the kind of games he enjoys. It was a fun and interesting experience, but I've grown weary of all the action and killing, so I've decided to return to adventure games.

I just purchased and started playing "Gray Matter". So far it looks like an excellent game. Glad to see Jane is back at her craft that she does so well again.

Looking forward to being a part of this wonderful community and playing adventure games again.

welcome golly woggle,

I envy you experiencing all the old-new adventure games for the first time. There are lots of great games that you might want to play.

Check the Latest and Upcoming Page and the GB Annual Game list on top of the page. That might give more ideas.

Have fun with Gray Matter.

Hi, golly_woogle! Your two favorite games, Myst and Zork Nemesis, are also my favorites!
And I've also just started Gray Matter--don't know that I'll ever get the hang of doing magic tricks, though!

The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

Hey Mary,

That's wonderful to hear! I guess I'm fortunate, when I was in grade school magic was a hobby (READ: PASSION) of mine, so that's helping to make the game all the more attractive.

welcome to Gameboomers golly_wolly! I also envy your chance to experience so many excellent games for the first time. smile

The Colonel's Bequest is one of my favorite older games. Loved the way it was divided into Acts like a play, and that so many things to discover were optional.

Glad you are enjoying Gray Matter. I agree, it is an excellent game, and my favorite to come out this year. thumbsup Seeing as you are a Lucas Arts fan, you may want to try Edna and Harvey: The Breakout. It's also a very strong game, and it has a very similar feel to the old Lucas Arts games.

Thanks for the suggestions venus! At one time Lucas Arts was my favorite adventure game company. Really hard to believe how much things have changed.

welcome golly-woogle. I am a huge Monkey Island fan and like you my first adventure game was by Sierra. Mine was Kings Quest.
I have not played Gray Matter but I have to think any game that Jane Jensen is involved with has to be awesome. Have fun and I'm sure you are going to love it here. The people here are the friendliest I have ever met. I am so glad you have joined us.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Thanks for the welcome, Gerry. I have to say, I'm having a blast playing Gray Matter. Just got the first cut scene after finding all the volunteers and I'm hooked smile
