At the point where ketchup is needed to put on the hotdog for the beggar, the villain is in two places in the hotel lobby. One is standing at the counter and the other is sitting in the lobby reading the paper. I can't get to the ketchup on the counter. I tried to go to the help site, but the link will not work. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi jamescone, welcome to GameBoomers.

This is a game glitch -- there are a few possible ways around it.

Here's one solution which worked for a forum member at TechSpot.com, although not for the couple of members here who tried it:

When you enter the hotel and the guy in white sits at the bar and the ketchup is not active. Click on the drunk guest in white on the bar and right after you start walking towards him press F12, he disappears and you go stand before him. Then notice that your cursor still says guest in thin air, click on guest and now press F12 again. It triggers a conversation from the night before. Just click through this and you walk to the door. Now the ketchup is active!

If that doesn't work you could install a saved game -- there are plenty HERE which should help.

Or alternatively go back to an earlier save of your own just as you arrive at the hotel location for the first time, and replay through this part exactly by the walkthrough. Doing certain things out of order may possibly cause this glitch.

luck and if you still have problems please let us know.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that did not work. Any other ideas?

I linked to some saves which you could try -- see the gold lettered "HERE" in my above post. Click on that.

Or, the replay of the scenes in this game location exactly by the walkthrough as another alternative. There's no guarantee that will work, but it's worth a shot. smile

As far as I know there's no game patch available which fixes this particular glitch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried to download the saved games and they are on my computer and I unzipped them, but they did not end up where they need to be and I can't figure out how to get them to the right place so that I can start the game at the saved place. I am not that computer literate.

welcome jamescone,

I sent you a saved game after Iris and the ketchup actions. It is up to you if you want to use it.
If you do use it, be sure to renumber the saved game as the last one in your saved game files. luck

Thanks to MaG, I finally got to the end puzzle and have found out where the pieces are supposed to go, but I have not been able to get even close to getting them in the right place. Does anyone have a solution?

Unfortunately it's a random puzzle. There's one possible solution in MaG's walkthrough, but it may not be the right one for you. Would you like a saved game for this, or will you persevere? smile

Help me people! I need a save too, but not the same one. I'm stuck getting the "secret room safe open. I've started this game fron the beginning three times now and always end up being unable to open the [blip] safe.

Yes, I know the combination, and the clockwise and counter clockwise movement of the pointer. I think it's a glitch in the "Big Fish" download as the "Big Fish" forum will attest to.

In any case I need a save right after the safe is opened. Anybody got one?

No MaG, the save you sent is when you got the key to open the safe. I had already done that part. I need a save for just after the safe is opened. Got one of those?

Don

I do not like this Microsoft Outlook. I click "send" and it still sits in my outbox. <sigh>
Hopefully it is there now.
