It sent me into spasms at first, but if you make your own notes of each room, and where each of the doors leads to, it all quickly becomes clearer and much easier to follow. Stick with it.

Hi to all Gameboomers,

I need help with Gray Matter. Would someone please be kind enough to send me a save from the visit with Angela at St. Edmunds where she give the paper fairy to Sam? I am using Mag's WT and am where Sam jumps to Christ Church

The saves in the other do not unzip for me with Windows 7. I don't know why. I uninstalled everything involved with the game, reinstalled the game and played up to this point again and I get the same result - a repeat of the last sentence. I can't get out of the loop.

Thanks so much. I am having fun with the game and would like to finish.

Maverick

I moved your new post to the original thread you posted on.

Give me a few minutes and I will look for the saved game in Lily's wt, download and sent to you unzipped.

----------

The Day 4 saved game files are there now.

Thanks, but now I am feeling like a really stupid Gameboomer. I saved the saved games from day 4 on my desktop, but there is nothing there when I try to open them. Is there something I am supposed to know and haven't learned yet?

I have gratefully used your saves before on a a couple of games and never had a problem.

Gratful Boomer Maverick

This is not the computer I played the game on so I am not sure where the Gray Matter saved game folder is located.
But try this:
1. Open the My Documents folder.
2. Look for the Gray Matter folder.
3. Open the folder if found and see the files. Take those files and keep them in a new folder that you make. This in case you want to use them again.
4. Replace them with the files sent.
5. Close all folders.
6. Play the game again. Load and see the new saved games.

Am at the part, after getting the green key. w/t says "Take the handcuffs back from the planks." When I use spacebar,do not see handcuffs to take back. Is this necessary to end game?

Thanks.

Laurette, if you just try to leave, she will automatically take them back.

Thanks, Birddog. However, I don't see them in inventory.

Also, to who would be kind enough to help. I've just spoken to Helena. I'm trying to follow the wt and keep ending up in the wrong place. At first I came to some statues (no keyholes). Now, I'm going around in circles. Thanks.

Select the skinnier Helena and go there. Tell Helena to "Stay Still" when you get the choice.
Do the selections until you have Helena in front of you.
Then you will end up at Diamonds Hall with no problem.

Thanks, birddog.

MaG: I have gone through the part choosing skinnier Helena and told her to "stay still."

I'll keep trying, though. Thanks.

Just finished the game. Wow! What a great game!

Hi out the in Gameboomer land,

I am haveing software problems with Gray Matter. Does anyone have a save that ends with Alice's shop? If I use Lily's saves, I miss the whole museum trip and I don't want to do that.

I have asked for tech support, but they have not offered any help.

One appreciative boomer,

Maverick

I had the same glitchy problems that Laurette and Maverick had. At the end of chapter 4 when I go to ST. Edminds to see the Lambs Club , nobody is there. After checking every location and not finding anything undone, I finally started Chapter 4 over and folllowed the WT exactly. The first time through I had done a couple of thing in different order. The second time, I did have a longer conversation with Dr. Styles in his lab, and voila - the Lambs club were where they were supposed to be and I went on to Chapter 5.

I also experienced the conversation loop with Angela in the church. After repeating the dialog 2 or 3 times I just did some rapid left-mouse clicking to get through it and Sam was finally able to leave the library.

There have been a few other little glitches, but nothing game-stopping - YET.
