Hi guys... A New Review!! I really should find a new name for my videos.. as a game review is pretty low down the list of things I would call my videos.. heh... Any suggestions? Anyway.. this one is all about Portal 1 and 2. I hope you like it. As I am not limited to 10 mins a review anymore I noticed I am getting longer and longer .. this one is about 15mins.. I might have to do something to get this under control next time as my last review was also 15+ mins. Anyway, I'll be taking a break for a bit but have a few other games in my list I want to look at that are all back on the original topic.. pure adventure games. So stay tuned for that. Happy Adventuring!! --A4L Portal Review (YouTube) @ AdventureReviews

Hi Adventurer4life -- I've just sent you a PM! EDIT: Just finished watching the review. Still Alive. Another great one. One of the things that distinguishes your reviews is all the background information you give, which is fascinating. That makes what you're doing more than a review, but I haven't come up with another word to describe what it is yet. One question: how important is it in Portal 2 to have quick reflexes?

I think you want a word that gives a sense of the depth of what you're doing, but without sounding too stuffy.
You could use "critique", of course. Other ideas are:
commentary exposition inspection
They aren't exactly snappy, though, are they?

Thanks guys.. yea no plans on stopping.. in fact I know what one I am going to do next... My mate said to call them Postmortem... as most of the games I do are old and "dead" game.... so it would be "Day of the Identical a Postmortem" or something.... sounded a little gross and morbid to me though. One question: how important is it in Portal 2 to have quick reflexes? Not at all is the answer... in P1 there were a number of puzzles that required you to shoot a target while flying through the air that required reflexes.. but there are no puzzles like this in P2.. at least the 3way I solved them anyway.. form talking to some people there seams to be a few rooms that can be solved different ways to how I did it.

So those of us who like puzzles and don't enjoy timed challenges can play the game??? Postmortem is definitely snappier! Traditionally that's an analysis by the developer of what went wrong/right in the development process, though, isn't it -- would it be confusing? I don't think it would be morbid, since it's such a common term for a post-release analysis. How about a debriefing? A travelogue? (I know, I'm brainstorming.)

Thanks for that review which has prompted me to get the game once the price comes down a little.
I loved the original game and am also a HalfLife fan.
I have just played the demo of Portal 2 on XBox and was wondering whether it would just be a slight reworking of the ideas in the first game, but your review suggests that there is quite a lot more to it.
As an FPS player, I was not particularly unnerved by the time/precision moments, but it makes sense for the new game to have steered away from those to appeal to a wider audience.
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.
