I can't launch The Black Mirror. It freezes my computer at the point that I should enter the code. No error message. I'm playing on XP.

You may have a more recent version of Starforce than the game shipped with.

Google The Black Mirror NoCD, download and extract the rar file. You can use 7-Zip for that if you don't have an UnRar program (it's free).

Edit -

Mske sure you read the how to install instructions at the download site -

I downloaded it and it said to reboot. Now, my computer will not boot and I am getting a Floppy disk(s) fail (40). There is no CD in my computer. Help, I just had to "restart" everything due to a virus, so I am nervous! I can't even get it to respond to F8 for "safe mood".

There is nothing in the download that would require you to reboot. Was the file a rar archive?

Yes, there were several of them in different languages. I "saved" it and then installed it. When I tried to launch The Black Mirror again, the same freeze happened. I restarted my computer, but windows did not open-I got a screen with colors and strange symbols. Now, I just get my cursor with a black screen unless I open "set up" or "boot up". Then I get the "floppy error". I have the CD's for TBM and even tried booting with the first one in the drive. According to my "set up", my computer is not wiped, it just won't boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
teach8

Check the answers for that error message ***here***.
If you have a floppy drive in the computer, look at post #2 on that page.
If you don't have a floppy drive, look at post #4.

I'm not sure what you mean by "restart" everything due to a virus. Restarting the computer does not get rid of a virus. Going back to a previous restore point isn't likely to get rid of it either.

The only time I saw something similar was when I had a motherboard go bad. But it's not clear what happened to your computer yet.

It's sounding an awful lot like a reinstall (with a reformat) might be in order.

Run CHKDSK before you consider a reinstall -

When I said "restart", I meant I went all the way back to factory. I had a tech. take off the virus, but I wasn't taking chances. I am running the Dell diagnostic now. It isn't finding any problems so far. When that is over, I will follow the Geeks instructions. Not to worry about "reinstall", if I get through with this, I'll just go on to The Black Mirror 2!
