I don't need any help/hints but I wanted to pop in to offer a little. I'm presently replaying this game and I've always had problems with the portrait puzzle and on the forums on Herinteractive I found some hints that if you follow them, it makes the puzzle much easier! So if anyone's having problems with that particular puzzle, here's what helped me complete that one in under 10 minutes (copied directly from that board):


Note: the numbers refer to the number of wires attached to the pin--there are:
one 7
one 6
two 5's
four 4's
seven 3's

Move all pins to near the center of the screen before you start, for ease of sorting. You can check how many wires are attached to a pin by pulling it out and rotating it around the others. Do this so that, when I say a pin is attached to another, you can make sure it is directly attached to it (and not just overlapping a wire).

Put the 7-pin in the upper left corner, and the 6-pin in the upper right.

There are two 5-pins, but only one is attached to the 6-pin. Move the 5-pin that is attached to the 6-pin into the bottom right corner.

Find the only pin (one of the 4's) that is attached to both the 7-pin (upper left corner) and the 5-pin (that you just put in the bottom right corner). To do so, take the pins out one-by-one and drag them to the bottom left corner. If a pin is not attached directly to both the 7 (upper left) and the 5 (bottom right), put it back in the center and keep checking the others. Once you find the correct pin, move it to the bottom left corner.

You should now have a wire rectangle around the edge of the puzzle area, like this: (ignore the rows of dots in the middle area--they're only helping to space the lines)

Find the only pin (a 3) connected to both the 4 and the 5 at the bottom of the rectangle. Move that to the center of the bottom of the puzzle area, just above the wire that joins the 4 and 5.

Now find the only other pin that is attached to the 3-pin you just moved (this will be a 4), and move it to the bottom left area, near the corner (but even with or slightly higher than the 3-pin you previously moved, so that it's above the wire that joins the 3-pin to the 4-pin that's in the bottom left corner, not under that wire).

You'll notice that the 4-pin you just moved is also attached to the 4-pin in the bottom left corner, as well as the 7-pin in the upper left corner. Find the fourth pin that it's attached to (a 3-pin), and move that pin over to the left side of the frame, so that it is directly above and close to the 4-pin you just moved. This 3-pin will be sitting just to the right of the wire that joins the 4-pin you just moved to the 7-pin in the upper left corner.

Now find the 3-pin that's attached to both the 7-pin (upper left corner) and the 6-pin (upper right corner). Move this 3-pin into the center of the top of the frame, just below the wire that joins the 7-pin and the 6-pin.

Find the 4-pin that's attached to the 3-pin you just moved (it's the only other pin attached to it) and move that pin into the center of the top section, putting it directly under and very close to the 3-pin you just moved.

You'll notice that the 4-pin you just moved is attached to the 7-pin and 6-pin as well. Find the only other pin that it's attached to (a 4-pin), and move that pin directly under the 4-pin you just moved. The three pins you just moved (3-pin, 4-pin, 4-pin) should now form a fairly tight vertical line just below the top wire (the wire joining the 7-pin and 6-pin).

Find the 3-pin that's attached to the 4-pin you just moved, and move it near the upper right corner area, just to the left of the wire that forms the left edge of the frame.

Now find the only other 5-pin (the one that's not in the bottom right corner), and move it to the center of the bottom part of the frame, so that it is directly above and close to the 3-pin that's down there (the one that's sitting in the center just above the bottom wire).

Move the remaining three pins into the right center part of the puzzle area. They should be placed in a short vertical line, spaced slightly apart, with the 3-pin that's attached to both 5-pins on the bottom of the vertical line, placing above it the 3-pin that's attached to the 3-pin I just mentioned, then put the last 3-pin above that one.

Ta-da! Finshed!

Most welcome, Rushes. This game is one I do enjoy very much, but don't play very often because of that puzzle and the mosiac balcony window puzzle later on. I'm going to look to see if I can find a good hint for that one too

I did find some steps for the mosiac balcony window puzzle, what really gets me every time with this puzzled is the fact that it's timed, and very short. When I get to the puzzle, I'm gonna try following these steps and I'll update this thread with my success/failure, but just incase I need it afterall, could someone email me a junior save after that puzzle's done?

Also, I didn't have much luck with the hints I mentioned (I think they're a little backward) BUT I did find a way to do the puzzle. Takes a bit of retrying, but with a few colors at a time, and meticulously following MaG's screenshot, I finally got through this puzzle by my own hands

Rushes, hate to bother you again, but do you have a save for the last nonogram? (Junior mode) I have no idea what I'm doing wrong because I do understand the concept, but just can't seem to get it done...
