Hi dear Gameboomers. I'd like to take a moment to tell you about a really great event that will take place during the Gamescom (August, 19th.) in Cologne, Germany this year. Just like in the last two years, Adventure-Treff.de will be hosting a huge community meeting at a beach club that is aiming at adventure game developers, adventure game fans, publishers and pretty much everyone who is related to the adventure game community. Confirmed guests so far include Charles Cecil (Broken Sword), Agustin Cordes (Scratches, Asylum), Matt Clark (Barrow Hill, Bracken Tor), Martin Ganteföhr (Overclocked, The Moment of Silence) and Jeff Williams (Darkstar). Despite of these confirmed names there will be many other developers around. So you would have the chance to meet a lot of these people in person, have discussions with them and other adventure game fans and spend a great and relaxed evening among with many other members of the adventure game community. You can find further info on our Facebook site. This is gonna be a great night for the adventure game world and if any of you have a chance to attend I'd be very glad. Hope to see as many members of the community there as possible!

It is a lot of fun indeed, Space Quest Fan! We're doing this for the third time now and the first two times were amazing. Special highlight of the last year: Last year Adventure-Treff did a poll about the best game between 2000 and 2010 that The Longest Journey won. Since Ragnar Tornquist and some colleagues from Funcom were at our party last year, we were able to give him our adventure of the decade award in person in front of lots of adventure game fans. Quite a special event for everyone that attended and I had the feeling that Ragnar felt very good about the whole thing himself.

Just a little update. There are about 50 confirmed guests for our event now and it's getting more daily. During the last days a lot of developers and publishers have confirmed, like Daedalic, King Art, Deck13, Animation Arts and many more. So if you visit Cologne in August, feel free to join us there. You can find all informations you need on our Facebook Site.

The newest confirmed star guest: Mr. Aaron Conners!!! Aaron will be at the Gamescom because he will be presenting The Sims 3 for EA where he is now working as a Senior Designer and fortunately he immediately agreed to visit the Adventure-Treff party. Woohoo, this is absolutely awesome. I've been a fan of him and the Tex Murphy games for a long time and beside of Jane Jensen (who I met in 2009) this is one of the few people from the adventure game world I always wanted to meet. Whoever of you will be there... don't forget to bring your Tex Murphy boxes to get them signed!

Just an update less than a week before the party starts. Jan Kavan of Cardboard Box Entertainment, Lace Mamba, Aidem Media (City of Secrets) and a lot of other developers will join the party on Friday 19th in Cologne. There is another thing to announce for all that are in Cologne this week. Starting tomorrow the NotGames Fest will also take place there, moderated by the great People of Tale of Tales (The Path, The Graveyard). There will be a lot of very unconventional games to see, like Trauma by Krystian Majewski, Kairo by Richard Perrin (The White Chamber) and Dear Esther, a HL2-mod that will be published soon as standalone game. Also the guys from Frictional Games (Penumbra, Amnesia) want to come. Find any info needed here: http://notgames.colognegamelab.com/And of course every adventure game fan is still invited to come to the sandburg in Cologne on 19th August, 5 pm. Find a flyer in the first post of this thread. Please keep in mind that they don't accept credit cards. If you come, you will have to pay cash. best regards Michael

I'm actually living in Berlin, but I won't be in Germany on the 19'th... shame!!! I'd definitely come!

The Party is over and a lot of nice people have been there. Here are some pictures taken on the event, I hope they are also visible when you are not logged in to Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150267839198208.336292.169227068207&l=8cb0dbeafaWe are already planning for next year and hope to get the same location again. So if you are in Cologne for the next gamescom, join us there. We will announce it some months before it happens.
