I really would like to get Gray Matter but considering the black flickering screen issue I have with Sims 3, I'm afraid it would not run well since this game is also more recent.

Here are my system specs currently:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
Other OS Description Not Available
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Name ASHLEY-PC
System Manufacturer TOSHIBA
System Model Satellite L655
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6200 @ 2.13GHz, 2133 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date INSYDE 2.30, 3/23/2011
SMBIOS Version 2.6
Windows Directory C:\windows
System Directory C:\windows\system32
Boot Device\Device\HarddiskVolume1
Locale United States
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7600.16385"
User Name Ashley-PC\Ashley
Time Zone Eastern Daylight Time
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 3.80 GB
Available Physical Memory 2.29 GB
Total Virtual Memory 7.60 GB
Available Virtual Memory 5.78 GB
Page File Space 3.80 GB
Page File C:\pagefile.sys

Note: I do have Sims 3, Syberia 1 and Syberia 2, as well as a Nancy Drew game currently installed on my pc. These will be uninstalled once I've finished them.

The most important thing is not listed - your video card or chip. When I Googled your Toshiba model, it said this is what it has:

Intel HD Graphics Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0

I don't know anything about it, but it appears it is not meant for gaming. I'm sure Jenny or Inland will know more.

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Oops, sorry! Yeah, it's an Intel HD graphics card. I have trouble with Sims 3 crashing a lot but it might just be the Sims 3 (buggy game).

I know for sure that this card cannot play Fallout 3 or any other recent game that is very intensive.
Gray Matter does not seem as intense, but the graphics are beautiful. How do I get a hold of either of them? Or will they most likely respond to this?

I doubt any Intel video processor would play the game at an acceptable frame rate - if it played at all.

Intel and games don't mix well. Post the exact model number, maybe someone else has attempted it. We can look up the specs a well.

Edit -

Of the L655 models I looked at, none had discrete video memory. You'd probably have issues with Gray Matter.

I hope this is what you meant?

That is one of those I looked at - there is no discrete video memory.

Yeah, unfortunately I realized that now. I'm going to have to either buy or have a friend build a custom pc that is sufficient enough for my Sims 3 and any other video gaming needs. This laptop is good for it's portable usefulness.

And that's exactly what it was meant for - basic computing. It was never intended to be a gaming laptop. Lots more money involved for one of those!
