Are at the White Woods area already? If so - the warning sign is big and would be in front of you. I have a feeling that your map line is not long enough to show the White woods area. See the line at diagonal from top going southwest. That is the Woods area line.

Redo this part of the walkthrough carefully: Click to open the water pump. The motor is to the right and pump is to left. Take the chain from the well and click it on the water pump. Adrian wraps the chain around the shaft. Take the wire rope hanging over the barrel at right and click it on the open water pump. This is one pole. Take the power connection cable on the floor in front of the water pump and click it on the grate on the floor in front of the well - that is the other pole. Go left and add the salt on the puddle left of the well. Take the hanging from the ceiling 3 phase power cable and click it on the water to complete the circuit. Pull the large lever on the back wall left of the well to get power. Go back to the water pump and turn it on by clicking on the controls at right side of the machine. That averted the death by lightning bolt foretold by Madame Fortuna.

Is it an email attachment, gatsbygirl? Can you copy and paste it?

It is an attachment and I can "copy shortcut" but don't think that will give me the actual file. I will try it and see. Tried it but it didn't work. It is just a link back to my email

gatsbygirl, I just sent myself a game save and dragged the attachment off onto the desktop. Try that.

Thanks, Gil.
Which e-mail program are you using, gatsbygirl? I hope Gil's solution works for you. Keep us posted.

Gil, I dragged it to the desktop, re-numbered it and tried to play. No luck. When I went back into the saved games, next to the one I dragged into it, it said "Internet Shortcut" so the save didn't work I have Windows 7. Rushes, I am using Yahoo Mail.

gatsbygirl, that's very strange. The attachment I sent myself was a saved game for Dracula 3 - that miserable puzzle where you have to draw a symbol on the floor of a cave - and it was 485 KB. When I dragged it onto the desktop, right clicked on it there and looked at Properties, it was identified as save .005, 485 KB.
Shortcuts are tiny, the shortcut to BM 2, for instance, is less than 2 KB, so although I didn't install Dracula 3 and try the save, I'm sure I could renumber and use it. And I also have Windows 7 (64 bit).
Did Yahoo Mail tell you how big the save file was?
Did you copy the save to some folder like My Documents (keeping the original on the desktop), renumber the copy there and then move it to the saved game folder for BM 3 either by dragging it or by cut and paste?
If you didn't keep the original on your desktop, can you drag it out of the email again and check the size on your desktop?
On the desktop, did it look like a page with the top right corner folded down?
I'm trying to figure out why you keep getting "shortcut" on what should be an actual file.
Gil.

I also have Windows 7, and use Yahoo Mail. Here's what works for me: Open the e-mail and scroll down to the bottom, where you see an icon of the attachment. Left click on the attachment. A scanning screen comes up and it asks if you want to Continue. Confirm this. Then you see a download bar appear at the bottom of your screen. Click on the little black down arrow symbol next to the word "Save", then select "Save As". You're then able to specify exactly where you want to download the save, i.e. the Desktop. The file should then be downloaded correctly, and you'll be able to renumber it and move it across into your save folder.

There must be a whale of a difference between independent email clients and web-based programs like Yahoo Mail, Rushes. I'm glad you have the answer for gatsbygirl. Really had me scratching my head. Gil.

Thanks Gil and Rushes! I will try to follow what Rushes suggested for Yahoo and see if that works. Gil, I have already tried some of the things that you suggested without success. If Rushes suggestion doesn't work, I will try again to do the things you have suggested in case I did something wrong. Well, after several attempts, I was able to get the "save" into my game folder. However, it wasn't there when I tried to play. I made sure that I numbered it after the last save and that should have been 37. I noticed that in the actual game I had 40 saves. I re-downloaded the "save" and numbered it 41 and it was there! Isn't that odd that my BMIII game folder saves only had 36 and the actusal game had more? Anyway, I finished the game!!! Thanks to everyone for their help. Now on to Nancy Drew Captive Curse. I am sure you will be hearing from me asking fo help with this one, too
