I am trying to install Dracula The Last Sanctuary onto my XP laptop but once it gets to 43%, I then get the following error message:-
"file D:Install\Unwise.ini could not be opened"
Any ideas, anyone? Is my game corrupted??

Hi Rosaboobie, This is a tech question so I'll move you across to Glitches forum for advice.

We've been trying to get the game to install on her new Windows 7 laptop which will involve using Compatibility Mode, but she gets this same message on both her XP and Windows 7 laptops. She does appear to be able to navigate to the file on the optical drives on both computers.
She didn't mention that she was able to get it to install to 43% on her XP laptop at MM, but now that I read that, I wonder if it is when she is supposed to insert Disk 2, but the prompt for disk 2 isn't showing up?????

Now that you say that, Robert, I do remember it installing almost instantaneously and that disk 2 was just for play.

If it's an ini file, you can probably open it with Notepad, which could verify that the file is actually readable. Or drag it to your desktop and see whether it copies or gives an error. The version that I have of this game does not install anything from CD2. The installation is all from CD1 and is so fast that it is almost instantaneous. Yup. It's fast even on an old computer. The game plays mostly off the CD's.

Thanks for all your kind advice, folks, but nothing worked for me.
So I have bought the game again as a download - Fingers crossed this new version works!
