I give up. Every time I get near the solve, Renate wakes up. I know this is a random solve but is it still possible to get a saved game here? I have the worst headache now. I keep swearing I'll never buy another ND game, but I'm a sucker for punishment. (Gotta stop trying I guess) If there is a saved game, may I have one? I'm seventy eight now and need the instructions on how to load it onto my game. If I can't get a save I'll just have to quit. Help, Please?

Thank you so much. I've been dreading having to download a saved game. This was so easy per your instructions. The only problem I had was trying to download the attached file to "Desktop" I ended dragging it to desktop. (Opened up Windows, then dragged the file. Clumsy, but I got it! I tried both the Right and left click to get the desktop. I'm still confused, but I got it. I also used the copy, paste to get it into the game folder. If there is something I'm missing, could you let me know. I apologize for the trouble (and the dumbness) Thanks again. With these ND games I know I will always be back begging. Thank goodness for Gamebomers.

Did you place it in the Captive Curse folder that is in My Documents folder (not the Captive Curse folder in Nancy Drew folder) - step 2 of the instructions?

Yes. All is well. Just curious why the download doesn't say "save to desktop" It just says save. That is what I did. But when It didn't save save to desktop. I dragged it to "Desktop" after opening the desktop from the Windows Icon. Then I placed It(Copy/paste) into the game in the documents folder. I'm ok. I thought the download used to specify the Desktop, then the documents, then the game inside the documents folder. I supose that explanation doesn't make sense, but it worked. So I guess I'm ok. BTY, when I click on the save button on the download, does it automatically go into the desktop file?

That depends - if your default selection is the desktop - then it will go to desktop automatically.

I'm on page 21 of the walkthrough. Can't get Lukas to leave. The only checkoff on the list that is not checked off is searching Renata's bag. I got the saved game, (thank you) but could I have missed something in the bag and have to go clear back to that point? Or is there a trigger I might have missed. I have been over and over all the conversations, no luck. I like the game but am stuck at near the end. Maybe if I go back to the saved game for Renata's marble puzzle and keep searching the bag? What should I do?

Still trying to get Lukas to leave and get on with the game. Need Lukas to go missing. How do I get that done? I thought I followed the walkthrough. Still can't checkoff Renata's bag even tho I have the saved game sent to me. Everything else is checked off. If Lukas goes missing, my next mission is the furnace room. I dread having to start the game again. Afraid I will still end up where I am now. Help,please? On page 21 where it says "Find Lukas" Maybe a game save?? Next puzzle would be the cell lock after seeing Lukas in the cell.

Have you decoded 3 card notes?
Do you have the 4 legend papers and the postcard?

Did you go through Renate's bag again?

Classy, you could try examining everything in your inventory that has the eye icon next to it. Do you have a map of the castle and woods in inventory? See if that enables you to check off the task.

I have decoded the 3 card notes.I have the 4 legend papers and the postcard. I have not gone through Renate's bag a second time. I tried that but it kept bringing up the marble puzzle again. I do have the map of the castle and woods in inventory. I really don't know what to do. Do I need to work the Renate puzzle again. Please tell me that once is enough. I got the saved game puzzle from GB and thought that it was done. Help! Do I need to restart the game? Is there a saved game somewhere with that checkoff for Renate done? Then I could go on from there to find Lukas. I hate to quit now. Every check off is done now except for Renate's check off.

Got the checkoff!!!Duh! All I had to do was to give Renate an2nd piece of cake. Worked like a charm and I got the whole check off list filled in. Also got another clue from the book in her bag. Thanks for the saved game Thanks for Gameboomers. I always can count on GB!
