Due to the fact that I am ahead of the adventure games that are coming out I played Titanic Out of Time...what a great game and it worked fine on Windows 7..I played this one years ago... I am now playing Journeyman Project 3 which I have never played before. It is a good game also and works fine on Windows 7...Hope we get a barrage of new games out soon

lol

So both Titanic Out of Time and JP 3 worked without tweaks on Win 7? 64 bit? All you did was put the disk in the drive and install?

I agree, both are great games, though you do have to adjust expectations for the graphics in these older games.

I loved Titanic Out of Time and the journeyman games. I truly wish someone would re master these games so we could play again.

Both setting compatibility mode and running as admin count as tweaking.

I have Win 7-64 bit and can not get it to run at all, even with tweaks. Hamer, you must have 32 bit win7. I used to love this game.

Titanic was what I hoped could work. Oh well, Becky is right, the graphics on the old games are pretty sad compared to now. But there really have not been a lot to choose from in the past year.

Can you think of any other oldies that are fantastic that I may have missed along the way.....JP 3 was great and I never played it before....almost thinking I may try part 2.....Titanic was also great...These oldies spurned from the Zork Grand Inq game topic for me.....I bet there are a few good ones that were not so mainstream as GK...I hope within the games you guys mention I may find another gem.

Thanx

OH Oh Hammer - you will probably get hammered with suggestions which is a good thing rotfl

Anyway - have you heard of The Neverhood? or Freddy Pharkas Pharmacist? just a couple of instant recalls from the past for me. The Neverhood being one of my favorites. thumbsup

It's not the years honey, it's the mileage!

How about Jewels II (The ultimate Challenge)? Lots of puzzles, mazes, and dreaded sliders.

Another one though I'm not sure it qualifies as a strictly adventure game: Heaven & Earth. By Buena Vista. About the legend of Shammbbala.

Much have I seen and known...I am a part of all that I have met...Tennyson's Ulysses

Thanx all...i have tried most except rex nebula and heaven n earth...those maybe just a bit too old tho...i loved the fmv games ...i just finished the gog versions of phantasmagoria 1 and 2...i havent played those since they first came out so i didnt remember them really at all, it was almost like playing for the first time...i must say, Roberta got a little twisted in these games....lol...with the gruesome murders, s&m, and other stuff....but nevertheless it was good to replay those.....another good one was xfiles game......but maybe i should redo something like niburu or ....hmmmm i dunno....I havent tried Rhiannon...

I had forgot all about Noctropolis and Neverhood. thumbsup

I loved the graphics in Noctropolis.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

I can't play it on any of my current machine, flotsam, which is why I'm hoping GOG will take it on.

It IS old and the graphics WILL look poor now - but a really good story is a really good story regardless and journeying in a "coal fired spaceship" is definitely different lol lol

How about the series Atlantis? These all were good too. In (#1 I think?) I got to walk on the ceiling in one large maze and it was FUN!
Love, Betty Lou

That was Atlantis 2 (aka Beyond Atlantis). You were able to walk on the ceiling in the Chinese version of hell, which was an open maze.

How about the game that set the standard for the graphics of today Return To zork? 2 other great games were The Dame Was Loaded and Black Dahlia.

Return to Zork was my first Zork experience - and I found it a really difficult game at the time.

I was just looking through this thread again and realized that the great Tex Murphy series was not mentioned. My personal favorite of Tex's adventures was Under a Killing Moon. yay
