I am playing Gray Matter and I ran into a problem.

I am at St. Edmund Hall, and I clicked on to Lisa and I can't seem to find Up in Smoke. It does not turn the pages.

Can someone advise me on this.

Hi Rose,

Right-clicking should flip the pages of the magic book. I remember them being a little temperamental too, it might take a few repeated right-clicks for the pages to turn.

There are saves for each chapter of the game HERE.

The saves are zipped, so you will need to extract them before using them. Save the zipped file to desktop, then right-click on the file and select Extract Files.

Check your Documents folder to see if the save folder is there, or otherwise run a file search.

If the files are numbered sequentially then you'll need to renumber the saves which you downloaded to your desktop, so that they follow on from the last numbered save of your own.

Move the renumbered saves into your save folder, exit all folders, start up the game as usual, and choose the save which you wish to load & play.

Shout if you have problems.

I am having a problem, I am at the end of Chapter 2, I exit the phone booth.

Now I should be seeing the other volunteers to formed the Lambs Club, I think I did this before, I don't know.

Anyway, I can't seem to go to Chapter 3.

Hi Rose,

What are your percentages on your progress bars? That'll help you figure out what you might have missed. Also check any locations not greyed out on the map.

Double check the filing cabinet in David's lab, there might be new documents there to read.

You won't get the diary, wallet or lab key until the beginning of Chapter 3, when you automatically switch across to David's viewpoint.

The walk through says to jump to St. Edumunds from Christ Church.

I do that and the WT says, See the Lambs Club, and when I get there, nobody is around.

What do I do?

Hi Rose,

I'm not sure exactly where you are in the game -- which chapter is this? -- but if you're supposed to see everyone from the Lamb's Club and they're not there yet, then you've missed doing something along the way to trigger it. Check your progress bar and your percentages, that might help. Read back over the walkthrough for the chapter you're in, see if you can see any action which you might have overlooked. Look at your map for locations which aren't greyed out yet.
