Hello, everyone Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been working a lot before college starts up again. So I got this nifty little coupon by Big Fish Games that basically is any game for .99 until Aug 31st. I cannot decide, however, whether to buy Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy, Paradise or Chronicles of Mystery: Tree of Life. I finished the Syberia series not too long ago and absolutely adored them. I know that Paradise is made by the same company but is drastically different in plot/vibe. I played a little bit of Tree and the looks seemed the same but it was hard to know what the game would be like (only a trial). Nostradamus I have no idea what-so-ever how good it is other than that it's 1st person. I've read a few reviews but I would really like the opinions of you folks to help me decide. Again, looking for one with great adventure and plot like the Syberia series with maybe a touch of Nancy Drew.

I loved Paradise although others didn't. I thought it was a great game and a steal at that price. Ana

I also liked Paradise. I thought it was a good adventure game. I think I finished Tree of Life in about 6 hours. I never played Nostradamus. For .99 any one of them would be a good buy. IMHO.

I also vote for Paradise. While Tree of Life was fun for what it was, I think Paradise was a much stronger game. I'm pretty sure the majority of the criticism was due to the bugs in the game. I could be wrong, though. In any case, that hopefully won't be an issue with Big Fish's version. I'm assuming they carry the patched version. Never played Nostradamus, unfortunately, so I can't vouch for that one.

Thanks everyone I think I will try Paradise first. I believe that either BFG or another site posted a link for the patch, but BFG may have it already included, not sure. Either way, I will definitely get the patch. I guess the major bugs were mouse related or something. If I do a second game, it will most likely be Nostradamus. Tree of Life seems to be the short end of the stick, haha. I will update once I've purchased Paradise

I'll be interested to know what you think of Paradise after you've finished it. You're in for something...different.

If you like straight story driven games with strong character interaction (like the Syberias) go with Tree. Loved both of the Chronicles of Mystery games as well as the Art of Murder Games by city Interactive.

I played and liked them all, but Paradise is in a league by itself. I loved it even with the 'bugs'. If you have a 'bug-free' version, it's the winner.
If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

I've played a bit of Paradise and I really like it. It's very different from Syberia in a way though. Seems more intense. The only thing I don't like about this game is what I have to do to play it. See, I also play Sims 3 a lot which means my DEP has to be set to "except these programs" or whatever it is that I have to add the Sims 3 to the checklist. For Paradise, however, I have to click the first option in order to not get the DRM error. To say the least, it's a juggling act to figure out which I want to play and restart the PC. Other than that, the game is golden P.S.: Does the BFG version come with the patch or do I need to download it still? It's hard to tell yet at this point in the game.
