Looks pretty good. I don't really like the idea of Holmes being killed off, although maybe he'll come back to life as with The Return of Sherlock Holmes stories. Also the system to solve puzzles automatically seems cheap and dismissive to me. The problem wasn't that the puzzles were too hard, the problem was they were too obtuse and arbitrary. Fix the problem, don't shortcut it. But, I am looking forward to another Holmesian romp!

Me, too, jfcwilson. I doubt very much that Holmes will be killed off; even Conan Doyle couldn't do it. But you know what bothers me? This may sound silly but Holmes doesn't look like Holmes. He looks sort of...ordinary. Even his nose looks blobby in one of those screen shots. What a come down from his earlier portrayals in games and the images of Brett and Rathbone that stick in my mind. Are you refering to this shot: http://www.adventuregamers.com/screenshot.php?id=19073 It's not holmes in the foreground, I think it's one of the irregulars with Holmes' deerstalker. But otherwise, yeah, I agree that he looks, not so much ordinary as just too staunch and manly. He ought to have a slightly unhealthy, thin face, with a long, but not too deep, nose and gray eyes. Jeremy Brett is the ultimate Holmes and no-one can compare to him, especially with regards to his appearance.

Nope, **this image** is the one I was talking about, jfc. I still say he looks ordinary and nothing like my idea of The Great Detective. I agree with you about Jeremy Brett but some Gameboomers may take issue with that. Basil Rathbone does have his following. He certainly looked the part and had a great voice. Btw, I certainly hope Holmes is in disguise in that shot. If he's not, his sartorial taste has slipped quite a few notches. Gil.

Everyone's idea of how Holmes should look is very personal to them. You're likely familiar with the early Sidney Paget drawings, which were printed alongside the stories in The Strand magazine -- those cast Holmes as a very handsome fellow, not remotely unhealthy, cadaverous, or beak-nosed. The Paget drawings are always how I visualise Holmes -- they were my entry point, as the first Conan Doyle stories I ever read featured a full reproduction of the Strand pages. I'd say that Frogwares do a pretty fine job of recreating Holmes here. (It does look as though Holmes slipped his pyjama jacket on over his shirt by mistake, doesn't it!)

And his collar is wilted.

I agree with Rushes in that having read all the Sherlock stories before I ever saw him portrayed on large or small screen, I definitely had my own idea of what he might look like And once having "seen" him, in films and on TV, Basil Rathbone's interpretation has remained closest to how I, personally, had imagined him Jeremy Brett's version of Sherlock was very good too but it was just a little too "camp" for me. I never got that impression from the written word For me, Frogwares have captured the essences of Sherlock AND Watson extremely well and I am SO looking forward to their next Sherlock game

I believe the drawing that traveler is talking about,in it Holmes looks tired and warn out. In The Testament of SH, I believe Holmes is trying to defend hisself. So therefore there is a lot on him, which makes him stressed. When I am tired and warn out, I sure don't look like myself. Maybe the characters will show more facial expressions, and emotions in this game .
