I believe that Adrian automatically gives Valentina the sword handle when everything previously has been done. Double check your inventory in case that already happened, or check against the walkthrough for something you might have missed doing.

I deleted your other post.

Be sure that Valentina has tried the sword handle on the column and saw that it didn't work.
Then look close at the handle and see that it is missing a jewel.
Talk to Adrian after that and they decide that Adrian will get the other jewel.
Then Valentina will give the sword handle to Adrian.

mag. i know you have explained it all to me but if i talk to adrian after finding a jewel is missing, it means clicking on adrian then playing as adrian. that's where i get mixed up, somewhere in between. all i need at this juncture, is to have the sword handle in ADRIAN'S inventory not VALENTINA'S. robert.

If you follow the walkthrough:
- Valentina gives the jewelry box to Adrian.
- Adrian gives the sword handle to Valentina.
- Valentina goes to the library and uses the sword handle on the column. She takes it back from column. Look at the sword handle in inventory.
- Change to Adrian now. Go to the library. Talk to Valentina completely until you both know where the jewel is located.
- Then get Valentina to give the sword handle to Adrian.

Since I do not have a saved there - (closest I have is just after getting the ring), I cannot check.

But please check your inventory - it might be automatic if all the dialogue between the two concerning the ring and gem is finished.

My mistake - I sent you the saved game I have - after the bracelet is taken from the police station.

That means a new diary entry has been made.

New diary entry is alerted by a flashing book icon at top left. The diary is accessed by using the icon at top right or by the D or J key.

rushes. i read the new diary entry and i do not fully understand. in this case, what is the diary trying to tell me? to do what? robert.

Entry at the diary is just information or explanation of the storyline.
You can continue playing the game.

hi mag. i'm at the shades, just started, but when i click on the room 1 switch at bottom left, as red circled in your w/t, i die. have i gone wrong somewhere? robert.

Presumably you are in room 1.

If so - Be sure that the door at left (entrance) and at right (room 3) are closed. It will be dark then.

Then open the switch at bottom left in room 1 so that you let light in from room 2.
