Are you going to review A Stroke of Fate, Becky? I'd like to know if I should groan over it not being released in English in a box. Very intriguing premise for a game.

Kjos -- there's an interview with the developers of A Stroke of Fate here. The interview was conducted quite awhile ago, so it's possible the game has changed somewhat, but I think it is an adventure game.

Traveler -- GameBoomers will review both games, but I'm not sure of which reviewer will review what yet. Still picking my jaw up off the floor.

Just downloaded Dead Mountaineer's Hotel from steam. What a great game for $10.00. Graphics are beautiful. Point and click. Just started playing.
Games plays perfect on my xp. So far it's a true adventure. Thanks Becky.
Just bought Stroke of Fate also. Downloading now.

Dead Mountaineer's Hotel and A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie, two games announced several years ago that seemingly dropped from the face of the earth (well, Dead Mountaineer's Hotel had a small European release, but the publisher went bankrupt, so it's very hard to find) have just been released on Steam.

Frankly, I had given up hope of ever playing them.
These releases came out of the blue.

I was looking forward to play both, so this was a nice surprise indeed.

I can't believe this news....so my question is..is Steam a safe website like say Big Fish? Thanks for any info. I had wanted to play both of these games for ages.

WOW---What great games. Both point and click.
For $20. you can't go wrong. I know I will need a WT for the games. I just started playing them. I think almost everybody will want them. Pure adventure. Graphics are great on both games. They both have sub-titles to.

I've used Steam and haven't encountered any problems. I don't have high standards, though -- I use Dictionary.com all the time, for instance, and I know they track their users to the nth degree.

One thing to remember when playing, Dead Mountaineer's Hotel I had to start a new game and press Esc and than you can load a save. Just as soon as the man gets done talking you can load a save. Just before the games starts I tried to press the load and it didn't load. No big deal though.Just tried it again and it worked. sorry.

Wow- Just found out that an English version of this one is now available on Steam. The last I heard, I thought this one was dead in the water waiting for a company to pick up the English rights. Now it's released! I'm going to download it right away!

Purchased both, but haven't downloaded yet, just like my last gog purchases. I'll download them when I'm actually ready to play them, which won't be for awhile. My list of unplayed games just keeps getting bigger.

I think the reason they were not released here to begin with was because of publishing issues so I would think that the best is to get the download.
