Every year Gameboomers takes input for the top adventure games, similar to the AFI top 100...lists. What about a Gameboomers equivalent of the Oscars or Emmys? Categories could be more than just Best Game, but that would be the top one.

There could be awards for Best Soundtrack; Best Story; Best Character(s); Best Graphics, etc. - whatever you could think of...

You could even break those down further and have each of the above for Adventure games, Action/Adventure games, Shooters, Casual games, RPG's, Simulations, etc. if you applied to a larger context.

Or, do we already do that here at GB? If we do, my bad - have not checked in for a while...I honestly started to think of that while in the gym listening to the soundtrack from Return to Ravenhearst (I know, that is a CASUAL game...) It just occurred to me that there have been so many wonderful games and more keep coming. Shivers had an interesting soundtrack, for example, as did Myst.

Hi MooeyG -- every June, flotsam compiles a List that takes in the votes of the members. Here in the Adventure Discussion forum, you can vote for your top 20 adventure games of all time, and in the Dark Side forum, you can vote for your top choices in wider genres -- action games and RPGs, etc.

We haven't held the equivalent of the Oscars, focusing on different aspects of adventure games, because the List itself is a great resource and is also a lot of work!

Adventure Gamers has a feature every year that is similar to what you are describing -- it's usually posted at the beginning of a new year.
