I am loving this game but I seem to be thoroughly stuck. According to the WT, Deirdre should have given one of the characters two phone numbers to back up her alibi. I remember her offering to do so but I don't remember her handing those numbers to Ned (who was talking to her at the time). Where would they be stored? He already asked her on the date and got her fingerprint when she left to change. Deirdre has talked about her love of the novelty shop.

Alexei has not told me about his alibi yet.

All the sleuths have talked to all the suspects and I'm not getting any more dialogue options. I've had Bess, George & Ned call each other to see if that triggers anything. Nope.

I've been in the back room at Scoops, snooped through Alexi's trunk and have the matching fingerprint. I know what accelerant was present at the fire.

What did I forget to do?

Check your(Ned) mobile phone,I think you ll

Thanks, Haroula, but they're not there. That's the first place I looked when I realized I'd never looked for those numbers. I've checked everyone's phones for them. Well, I've checked in their "contact" lists. Is that where they should show up?

When I have Ned talk to Deirdre, I don't get any more dialogue options. They already had their "Where were you??!" discussion after Ned stood her up. Does this game dead end if you don't choose all the right dialogue options? Or is it like the other ND games where you just need to trigger something to get things moving again?

Edit: I've been thinking back and I realized something. After Ned stood Deirdre up, I went to Scoop as George. Bess asked me to go talk to Deirdre, so I did. That's who Deirdre offered to give the phone numbers with her alibi. The numbers aren't in George's phone. Then George asked Deidre to go on a walk and Deirdre turned her down. So now I don't know how to get Deidre to leave and I don't know where the phone numbers are. The WT says that this is where Ned should take Deirdre on a walk/date and one of the girls should look through her stuff to find some more info. But that dialogue isn't coming up.

The talk with Deirdre about her alibi comes after Nancy learns that the alarm at the town hall was turned off at 2:17 from her father. Nancy called him.

Then Nancy asks the others to check the alibi and also maybe get prints of the suspects.

Any of the other characters can talk to Deirdre about her alibi.

Deirdre will give the 2 friends' numbers to verify her alibi.

ALL the characters will have the 2 phone numbers in their "phone" and then "contacts" cell phone.

Be sure that you scroll the list at right to see ALL the phone numbers.

Best to go back to a previous saved game and replay.
Check your To Do list to see what else you are missing.

This is a really obvious question but, did you make sure to scroll down the list of contacts on the phone, as the two new ones should be at the bottom of the list and are not immediately visible.

Are you playing Junior or Senior level? If Junior, try checking your tasklist and see if there are other things you can do in the meantime. Then go back and try talking to Deirdre a little later. That might unlock new dialogue.

Thank you, all, but I'm still stuck. The only character who has an option to scroll down in the phone list is Nancy and the last name on her list is her dad. I thought I remembered Nancy's dad telling her that the alarm had been shut off. When I call Carson now, I have no dialogue options. So from what I'm reading in your responses, that might be what's missing - Carson telling Nancy that the alarm was turned off and that subsequently opening things up so I can start asking about alibis.

I went back to a saved game last night - it was right after I got Deirdre's fingerprint. I went through getting into Toni's back closet and finding the ice cube trays, key and pictures behind her counter. Alexei told me his story. Toni told Ned to "cool it" after he accused her of wanting the land. Brenda's fingerprint has been obtained. Again, George asked Deirdre to go for a walk and was turned down. I have not been given the option to have Ned ask Deirdre out again and I've had Nancy call him.

I'm sure it's some teeny little thing I've missed but it's driving me crazy that I can't find it. I've checked several walkthroughs now and I can't see what I've skipped.

I'm playing senior level so I don't have a checklist.

Check your evidence board and look at them.
Arrange it and see if you can then call Ned to do the distracting.

Checking my board against the board in the WT here on GB, my evidence board has everything but alibis for each suspect and there is something in a baggie missing from Deirdre's section - I'm assuming that's the ticket based on reading the WT.

I just tried taking everything off and putting it all back on to see if that would trigger dialogue when she calls Dad. I've also gone through each character, had them visit all the suspects again and call each other and Nancy. Nothing new. The only "hot spot" I can't get into is the safe type of thing in Brenda's van. Is that the missing link?

There are 2 baggies in Deirdre's section.

No - everything for the van is later in the game.

I checked and saw that you have not collected or is there any statement in the journal about collecting alibis.

So I checked the alarm at the Town Hall and saw that it was turned off. The character stated it so.

After that call Nancy about the result and the ball will start rolling for you again.

Thank you so much! I had actually sent both Bess and George back in to look at the thermostat and nothing happened. I totally missed that there was an alarm to check. I knew it would be something simple! Thank you again!
