Downloaded sample. Stuck right away. Checked the Collectors Edit. forum. Someone there changed their settings to 1280x960 and that worked. I did that. No sooner did I see my new screen resolutions, than my screen went pink with a black border. nI've rebooted several times. Get my WindowXP home page for 2 seconds, then pink screen. Won't hold windows till I can change settings back. Help???

I really enjoy mornings. I just wish they came later in the day.

Boot to Safe-Mode, tap F8 while the PC is starting up (You'll see a menu if you've done correctly, choose Safe Mode).

Once you see the desktop change your desktop resolution and reboot.

Downloaded sample. Stuck. Checked CE forum. Someone there changed screen resolution to 1280x960. Worked for them. I tried it. Got a glimpse of the new screen, then screen turned pink and blank. I've rebooted sev times. Won't hold WinXP long enough for me to click start, so can't change settings back to where they were. Already tried 'glitches'. Haven't gotten back yet. Help????

First see if you can use "Last Known Good" to get your resolution back the way it was.
Tap the F8 key repeatedly as soon as the computer starts booting. When you get to the menu screen, choose "Last Known Good Configuration."

If you never see the boot menu and the computer just tries to boot to Windows, you didn't start tapping early enough in the process -- or else you didn't continue long enough.

If "Last Known Good" doesn't work (and it may not if you've actually succeeded in booting to Windows), restart the computer and boot to Safe Mode (by tapping the F8 key during boot). If you boot to Safe Mode, you should get an image on the screen. Once there, see if you're able to change your resolution. You'll have to use the Advanced button in Display Properties to get to higher screen resolutions.

Sorry about the multiples. I panicked! Anyhoo, none of that worked, so unplugged everything to give it a chance to reset. It did. Yay! But no Ravenhurst. frown

bkrytr, you should go to BFG and read the system requirements for Ravenhurst. The mods on BFG have stated very clearly, you have to have those requirements or Ravenhurst won't run on your system.

You should also look on BFG at the forum for Ravenhurst to see what fixes they recommend; updating drivers, and the like.

Bottom line, not everybody will be able to run Ravenhurst.

Are we talking about Return to Ravenhearst or the new one, Escape from Ravenhearst? Escape from Ravenhearst had higher requirements for the video card than the previous Ravenhearst games.

I think it must be Escape From Ravenhearst, as it was mentioned that the game was a CE. Return to Ravenhearst was released before there were Collector's Editions.
