I think it makes sense for something like Amnesia or Penumbra to be placed in the Adventure catagory, but not really Silent Hill. I do think that Silent Hill contributed a good bit to the modern horror adventure game e.g. Dark Fall, though.

Well, of course I think that Gabriel Knight 3 is way too low. Happy to see it on the list at all, though.

Just to be clear, Shattered Memories is quite unlike all the other Silent Hill games, which are very traditional surivival-horrors that we don't consider adventures. The whole point of nominating this one is for its radical shift in design to much more adventure-oriented gameplay. (Well, that and being great, of course. )

I agree with Traveler and I am also very anxious to see what they feel is in the top 10 ! Not to mention the #1 Game !!

I have my #1 game and top 10 list in mind too and I am hoping to see a few of those in there.

Well, whilst I do always enjoy reading through lists made by others, nothing changes my mind about my own "top game" choices

Well, Anxious ? yea, but more from "I wonder what games "THEY" think are top 10 or #1" standpoint - maybe I missed 1 or 2 !!

Although my top games are my personal favorites - I might pick up on a game I didn't play yet that made it to someone's list. I am always on the prowl for a lead.

I've acquired 2 games from the list so far that sounded interesting - the Atlantis game and Riddle of Master LU.
Unfortunately I can't play the Atlantis game because of the full motion, after a few minutes I have to go lie down with a cold cloth over my eyes and wait till my stomach and head stop spinning.

But there's always hope something else will show up.

It certainly is an interesting take of "best" games.

Great list! There are games on it that I haven't heard of, so I will have to investigate them. Glad that Laura Bow was mentioned although I didn't play The Colonel's Bequest. The Dagger of Amon RA was the first AG I played and I loved it! Loved all of the Sierra Games I played: Kings Quest, Gabriel Knight but didn't like the way we could die at the end, if we had missed doing or picking up something earlier in the game. Glad that most of the newer games have eliminated that frustrating feature.

I loved Hotel Dusk and didn't know that there is a sequel named Last Window: Secret of Cape West. I am going to look for it.

I really liked the suggestions they listed after each game,too. Of course we aren't all going to agree with everything on it but it is obvious that they put a lot of work into this list. Can't wait to see the rest of it and see which games are in the top 5.Wonder which game will be in the # 1 spot?

Does to me, too, so far. I'm thinking the placement of the games is going to cause some argument. GK1 probably tops the lists of favorites for some people but here it is at 16...overshadowed by Syberia, which other people may think deserves an even higher placement, for instance. It's not the games themselves, it's where the team ranked them that may have eyes bulging and fangs coming out.

Discworld Noir deserves better than 27. I've played that game more times than any other.

Count me as one that thinks Syberia should be higher but I can't say that I'm really qualified to judge. I'm a very recent BAAGer. The great thing for me about this list is that almost all of them are new to me. So many games, so little time.

I'm beginning to wonder if Culpa Innata even made their list. As much as I liked it, I thought Syberia was much better.

Oh and I also forgot about Longest Journey which I thought was great.

BobH, Culpa Innata was one of the 'you might also like...' games so I doubt it will make the list.

I hoping there will be a bit of tex murphy at the top. UAKM listed as 25...go pandora

Pandora will probably be listed higher than UAKM.
I kind of liked UAKM better, but that's just me.

I keep checking to see if they've posted the top 10.
