Yankee Clipper, I have deleted all saves except for 2. Every once in a while a corrupt save shows up which I also delete. I have also disabled all auto saving. It helps but after a couple of hours the game starts lagging and then freezes.

True. It's a huge game and sometimes I feel like I've just barely scratched the surface of it and that's after playing 137 hours. I love this game although I have to say, I don't think it's going to take Fallout 3's place in my heart. Over 300 hours I spent playing that game and I can still go back to it from time to time and discover things that I never knew existed in it.

Hey Anne G. Thanks for being so gracious about helping me with modding when the time comes. I really appreciate it! btw---I know what you mean. I love Skyrim, especially its size and beauty, but for me, Oblivion will always be THE Bethesda game that grabbed me and won't let go. sigh.... Tracy

I'm really enjoying myself too. I haven't done a heck of a lot yet but it's fun. I've cleared out a few places, killed some bandits, joined the companions and now may go look at a dragon.
I just found out a house in Whiterun is 5000 gold! I'm going to have to hire myself out as a mercenary to get the money.

How do I plant the incriminating letter on Gaius Maro's body? I have killed him, but can not figure how to plant the letter. The Dark Brotherhood-Quest Breaching Security.

JeanK, don't forget to repair, improve, enchant weapons and armour before selling them. I didn't realize I could get more cash by doing that. And loot loot loot. Kazz, I haven't done that quest line yet...but I know we have members who have so hopefully one of them will be along. You can't just drop it on him?

0.o I forgot all about repairing. I haven't been to anyone yet that offered to repair. Who does it? Or do I have to get that skill somewhere.
I guess I should learn enchanting. That will be useful.
I just got killed over and over by that dragon near Whiterun, but I'm only level 6 so I guess I'll go level up a bit more before tackling him again.

Jean, you can do your own repairing at a smiths...you might want to put points in there. I did cos I like to be self sufficient. You learn enchants by disenchanting items at an enchanting table. There is one in Dragon's Reach next to the Alchemy table in the castle. The best way to kill a dragon is to get other folks to take the close up hits and use ranged capabilities and heal yourself, alot. (At least, that worked for me in the lower level)

Finally got it planted, do not know how I did it, just kept playing with it until I accidentally hit the right key. Would like to know the correct way to do this without all the trial and error, if someone would please post the correct steps. I am sure this action will appear again in game play.

Kazzmo you plant things on a body the same way you put things in a chest. Open the body with your action key (default E) and then highlight the item from your inventory and then transfer it with the "R" key.

Oldman and Rowan, Thank you. I have not pickpocketed anyone yet and have been been dropping my stored items in my rooms. I shall be neat and store them properly now.

JeanK, enchanting and blacksmithing are two of the most valuable things to spend time on. The more you practise, the better you get, and the more skills you buy in those skill trees, the better gear you can make. Lydia and I have all Legendary or Epic gear with very powerful enchantments I made myself. I take on dragons and other powerful baddies with my sword, now, never mind all that ranged silliness - and I'm still only at around level 50 in one-handed. My enchanted sword, Revenge, steals health and souls, making me a rather bad person for any unsuspecting boss enemy to attack. The only thing that can get me now is an archer with a powerful bow, and I always let Lydia, easily detected because of her heavy armour, soak up that damage, while I sneak around for the backstab.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I love Skyrim, especially its size and beauty, but for me, Oblivion will always be THE Bethesda game that grabbed me and won't let go. sigh.... Tracy No problem. It'll be fun! Once you get the hang of it, you'll love it. << a dancing tomato for no reason. F3 will always be my fave, but Oblivion was a wonderful game and I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it. I didn't expect to. I thought New Vegas was good but it didn't pull me in nearly as much as those other two. I had much more fun modding NV than I ever did playing it. Morrowind... well, I never could get into that one. I didn't get the hang of the combat in it and it frustrated me to no end whenever I tried to kill something. I eventually gave up. On a side note about Skyrim: Has anyone else noticed that after a while, the glow from the unpicked nirnroot plants get really, really bright? I swear I can see some of them from miles away. *lol*

Morrowind... well, I never could get into that one. I didn't get the hang of the combat in it and it frustrated me to no end whenever I tried to kill something. I eventually gave up. When you first install Morrowind and choose options, select "best combat always" (or words to that effect - I can't remember the exact phrase). Then you can simply "click on your foe" to fight it [ I never understood the complicated "other" system, either !!]

I finished! I'm so happy. The ending was wonderful, and everyone loves me. Yah for me! Hahaha It took me almost 400 hours: twice through (but not quite through the first time) and I only did the main Thieves quest, and none of the Dark Brotherhood. I'm celebrating with a nice glass of red wine, and I'm starting over as a Nord blond (says dark haired Annie)!

Congratulations Annie! I'm only in about 24 hours, and losing track of time while playing.
I took a trip to Solitude to join the Legion. Where is the guy I'm supposed to talk to? I talked to the general and the palace and he told me to talk to him, but I'm not sure where he is. I've been wandering around a while now.

JeanK, you're looking for Tullius? He's in Castle Dour. If you just go up those steps on the left after you enter Solitude (like you're going to the blacksmith) you'll see a passageway. Just go through there and you'll come out to a courtyard. There's usually a lot of Imperial soldiers and guards wandering around there. Go through the only door you'll see and he's in there. You'll hear him in there, arguing with his legate.
