I'm at the second murder scene, and supposed to gather all clues for deduction. But cursor won't recognize blood on wall or stoop, though pressing space bar highlights both. (I have all other clues). When I click on either site, it simply goes to a close-up of the body. I've tries in 1st and 3rd person view, but no go. I've gone back to earlier saved games to start over--same thing.

Like a solid citizen, I tried searching for similar problems or patches to this, but I can't find any mention of it. If I can't get all the clues, I am stuck and can't progress.

I use Win 7, with the Tages dl. It ran fine up to this point. Help, I've hit a (bloody) wall!

It's not a TAGES problem or the game wouldn't run. I don't believe Frogwares would implement the "Trigger Functions" that cause bugs in a game if the copy "protection" fails to sense the game disc properly during a mid-game disc check.

This might be a resolution problem. When testing a preview version, I had problems around where I think you are now. A hotspot wasn't showing up, and it wasn't until I changed the resolution (a tip from MaGtRo or Frogwares) that the hotspot became obvious. Unfortunately I don't remember which resolution worked -- but I think it was from a widescreen to a full screen resolution. I only had to change it for this one location to hit the hotspot and then I changed back to widescreen.

Also the blood might not be the spatter you think it is. The real hotspot might not be in a hotspot that's showing up (if the hotspot problem was not corrected). Also some hotspots were very close together and at least one of them didn't highlight.

I'm in full screen now. There are several other resolution choices. I'm going to keep trying them till I hit the right one.

I changed the res and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the tip.

Glad to hear you found the right resolution.
It's a weird glitch I haven't heard of with any other game.
Enjoy the game.
