Thanks, Ana. I'm reading that this game is based upon a short story by H.P. Lovecraft. I'll check out the demo today. wave

It's a nice easy flowing game with an interesting story. There are a fair number of HOS in the game as well.

Grizzly fate?
The word is grisly -- unless there's a big bear involved.

Big Fish shouldn't rely on a spell checker for their proofing.

I agree, Jenny. I noticed that mistake too. eek wave

Minibramble, are you playing the demo of the game? If so, you aren't able to see/access the strategy guide until you purchase the game. wave

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who cringes when I see an error like that! I pity the poor people who try to learn our language!

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

BigFish did not develop the game.

minibramble, where are you stuck? I wrote the Strategy guide but as Marian stated it is not available till after you purchase the game.

Perhaps there is a grisly grizzly, or even a bare bear, involved at some stage of the game! Glad to hear of all the HO scenes which I love. Thanks Ana and everyone for the info on this thumbsup wave

Early reviews over at BF have been lukewarm, any opinions here? I played only a few minutes of the demo.

I thought it looked like a good game, at least the part of the demo that I played. I did see one person on the Big Fish forums say that it took her 6 hours to finish it, although it was unclear to me whether or not this included the bonus game. wave

I thought it to be a well written, very intuitive game as far as gameplay was concerned. It's a more relaxing type of gameplay.

Marian, it is indeed a good length game.

Halfway through the demo I'm thinking: "This shouldn't be a CE." Maybe a Deluxe. In comparison to more recent CE's, this one's a bit primitive in the graphics department. Will wait for the standard version. Reviews here sound mostly positive. A game doesn't have to be "razzle dazzle" to be fun. But I've come to expect a bit more polish from a CE.

I'm just playing the demo.So that's why I can't access guide.

I am stuck.Seems I need to do something to the stove in the kitchen which I have already lit.I have no cooking stuff to use except for some flour and I only have half of the recipe.

Minibramble, you will need to go other places and do other things before you can finish this. Just go around town and look everywhere and read everything to trigger HOS where you can find more. You will get half a recipe in the candy shop and the other half is by the stove. It will be awhile before you can gather all the ingredients.
